A school bell announcing the beginning of the lessons rang for the first time in Pliešovce in September 1961. The new-built school was built by the inhabitants of Pliešovce by themselves.
In 1994 the school was enlarged by the additional building of a school canteen. In April 2002 the school has acquired the legal identity. The kindergarten has become the part of the school since 1st July 2008.
On the present we educate almost 300 pupils from Pliešovce, Sása, Bzovská Lehôtka as well as the pupils from broader surroundings. The school with its 40 employees is the biggest employer of the village.
Our education is inspired by creative-humanist education where the formation of interpersonal relations is essential. The lessons are focused on English languge teaching from the first year of study, regional education but also specific subjects like Traffic education and First aid.
Friday Dalton method of education on the first grade of Primary school, Autumn festival, many excursions, the environmental knowledge contest and Heuréka, the class scientific conference, have had a long-term tradition here. In collaboration with the founder we organize the school Olympic games of Microregion Pliešovská kotlina hollow basin every two years.
