In the first year of the project the general topic is Ancient Rome. The students have prepared different presentations about the main Roman historical places, characters, art, history and monuments. They are preparing and presenting them at school and later they are presented in the related site during the visit of the students from the other country.
The topics included are:
- The Roman cities: Ostia Antica and Italica, and other Roman cities
- Julius Caesar, Hadrian, Traian and other Roman emperors
- Suburbs: Trastevere and Triana
- Painting, sculpture and Roman mosaics
- Seneca and Cicero and other Roman writers
- Rome and Seville: Testaccio and other things in common.
- Romans in Shakespeare’s plays: Titus Andronicus, Julius Caesar, Antony and Cleopatra, Coriolanus

- The Pantheon
- The Palatino museums
- Ostia Antica
- Traian markets

Another important part of the activities of this project are the performances of theatre play or sketches with a Roman topic. In this case the Italian students represented some sketches from "Julius Caesar" by Shakespeare and the Spanish students a rehearsal of the play they are preparing about "Miles gloriosus" by Plautus.
We also celebrated cultural contests in both cities with the students of IIS Via delle sette Chiese and IES Punta del Verde with questions about the historical places they had visited.
