The most of us thought that the disappeared salt was not still in water: they though it evaporated. Only 11 in  40 students,  said it still was in water, even if we couldn’t see it. They said it was dissolved in water.

After they tasted the water, they discovered it was really very salty, so they changed their idea and decided the salt was dissolved in.

Almost none sayed it is possible to make the salt reappear.

As a teacher, I suggested to do an experiment, so we put a paper snowflake in a plate and cover it with a little bit of salty water.

Now we are waiting for results….

    12th December

After a few days after the experiment, our paper snowflakes were covered with a white and shiny powder.

       1A crystals

      1B crystals

We thought it was ice! ... But in our classroom we have no fridge!

To check our hypothesis, we broke the crystals and tasted them: the powder was salty!

    So, finally, we understood!

When water evaporated, the salt reappeared!

We registered our experience on our notebboks
