Traditions transmitted by our grandparents

  • "La Jota", our traditional dance.

We, young people, don't usually dance our traditional dance. On behalf of our Erasmus+ project we decided to learn how to dance it and to sing it.

In the attached file, a power point, we explain the origin of this dance and singing.

Domi Garcia, a retired woman living in our town, came to our school to teach us this dance.

As we explain in the attached power point the lyrics of the song are always improvised while singing. That's what the audience enjoy the most as the lyrics vary and are adpated to the situation and backgroung where the party takes place. The singer will improvise his lyrics to satirize a situation and make people laugh, to report a situation, to please the "important" people in the place ....

On behalf of our Erasmus+ project, our students composed the lyrics to talk about the project and their commitment with nature.

    We hope you enjoy it!!!!
