  • Slovakia - small country in central Europe, Slovakia's territory spans about 49,000 square kilometres and is mostly mountainous, the population is over 5 million and comprises mostly ethnic Slovaks, the capital and largest city is Bratislava, the official language is Slovak, Slovakia became an independent nation on January 1st 1993 (when Czechoslovakia was dissolved).

    Croatia - country in the southern Europe; capital city is Zagreb. Croatia has the land area 56.542km², the surface of the coastal sea is 31.067km² and a population of 4.28 million. Croatia became a founding member of Yugoslavia, but on 25 June 1991, Croatia declarded independence, which came wholly into effect on 8 October of the same year. The Croatian War of Indenpendece was fought successfully for four years following the declaration. The official language is Croatian.

    Spain- quite a big country in the southwest  of Europe (504.782 sq km). It's the third country in Europe for its size and the fifth for its population (more than 40 million inhabitants). The official language is Spanish but in some northern regions there's an additional language: Catalan in Catalonia (northeast), Galician in Galicia (northwest) and Basque in the Basque Country. Spain is known for its  historical sites, cultural features,food and climate that make it attractive to tourists. 

    Ukraine is a large country in the east of Uurope with the population of about 42 million people. Actually, with its territory of 603, 628 square kilometers, Ukraine is the largest country in Europe with rich cultural history. The official language is Ukrainian, but there are many people who speak Russian, Polish, Hungarian, Armenian, Romanian and other languages. The capital of Ukraine is Kyiv, other big cities include Kharkiv, Odessa, Lviv. Ukraine is well known for its delicious traditional cuisine, colourful folk dances and music and beautiful embroidery. But most of all we are famous for our hospitality. 

    Turkey, When viewed from a distance, the area of ​​Turkey's land, which resembles a rectangle, is 814,578 km² and Turkey has wider territories than all the European neighbors except Iran and all European countries except the Russian Federation.In terms of population, Turkey (about 80 million) is the second largest country of Europe after Germany.The length of Turkey's land boundaries is 2,875 km; the length of sea boundaries is 8,333 km; The width is about 550 km and the length is 1,500 km.Turkey, one of the most strategic countries in the world with its geopolitical status, is at the crossing point of Asia, Europe and Africa, called "Old World Characters." It is the only bridge between all religions as well as between East and West civilizations.Turkey is connected to the oceans by the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and the Aegean Sea. It is like a neighbor to the whole world and has been the center of great migration and trade routes throughout history. Through the Straits of Istanbul and the Dardanelles, the Black Sea opens to the world and many important waterways pass through Marmara, an inner sea. In the east are Georgia, Armenia, Nakhichevan and Iran; Bulgaria and Greece in the west; In the south is a neighbor to Syria and Iraq.

    Poland is a country in central Europe with a coastline on the Baltic Sea in the north. It is bordered by Germany in west, the Czech Republic in south west, Slovakia in south, Ukraine in south east, Belarus in east and Lithuania and Russia in north east. The country shares maritime borders with Denmark and Sweden. Poland covers an area of 312,685 km², making it slightly larger than Italy or slightly smaller than the US state of New Mexico. Poland has a population of about 38.5 million; the official language is Polish. The  largest city and capital is Warsaw. It is famous for its cuisine, turbulent history and many famous people.

    Italy, officially the Italian Republic, is located in Southern Europe and has a population of approximately 61 million. Rome is Italy’s capital city but other large cities are Milan, Naples and Turin. The total land area of Italy is approximately 301,328 square kilometres.In general, Italy has a Mediterranean climate. It can be extremely hot everywhere in the summer, and extremely cold in the north during the winter. It has been the home of the Etruscans and the Romans, and later it was the birthplace of the movement of the Renaissance that spread all over Europe. Well-known figures are Dante, Petrarch, Boccaccio, Giotto, Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio, Michelangelo, Vivaldi, Rossini, Verdi, Puccini, Rossellini, Fellini, De Sica, Valentino, Fendi and many more.

    Serbia, officially the Republic of Serbia, is a landlocked country situated at the crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe in the southern Pannonian Plain and the central Balkans. It borders Hungary to the north; Romania and Bulgaria to the east; Macedonia to the south; CroatiaBosniaMontenegro to the west and claims a border with Albania through the disputed territory of Kosovo. Serbia numbers around 7 million residents.Iits capital, Belgrade, ranks among the oldest and largest cities in Europe.

Serbia’s beautiful mountains, national parks, rivers and lakes are the perfect location for an active outdoor holiday – from hunting and fishing to extreme sports.Many times during its rich, centuries-long history, Serbia has been at the centre of Europe’s and the world’s attention, out of all proportion to its modest size, economic might and number of inhabitants. Many lessons on bravery, patriotism and the struggle for freedom can be learned wherever you turn in Serbia, as you pass through its cities and regions.

    The cultural and historical heritage of Serbia begins with prehistoric archaeological sites and its legacy from classical antiquity. Perhaps its greatest riches, though, are in the many mediaeval Serbian churches and monasteries, some of which are included on the UNESCO.

    France is situated in Western Europe. It has got borders with 6  countries : Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain. France is a republic with a newly voted president :  Emmanuel Macron. There are 67 million inhabitants. The capital and largest city is Paris. The national money is the Euro. The national motto is " liberty, equality, fraternity".

    Hungary is a little country in Central Europe. Its capital city is Budapest. It covers an area of 93 000 square kilometres and has about 10 million inhabitants. Hungary is famous for its wine and medical spas. In summers there are a lot of festivals, for example "Sziget" (The Island) which is one of the most popular festivals in Europe. It is a beautiful country which is worth visiting. 

    Germany is in the middle of Europe. Our capital is Berlin but the next biggest conurbation is the Ruhrmetropolis with Recklinghausen being a part of it. Germany's population is 82 million inhabitants and in the Ruhrmetropolis live 8,5 million of them. By the way: the Ruhrmetropolis was European Cultural Capital in 2010.
