Kindergarten whit extended program nr.11. - Târgu - Mureș, ROMANIA/ How are birthday celebrated

  • KINDERGARTEN  WITH EXTENDED PROGRAM  nr.11.

    Târgu Mureş, Transylvania, Romania

We celebrate our birthdays with much joy, smile and many goodies brought home, trying to remember and practice the traditional Hungarian customs to celebrate the birthday.

In the morning we have a celebration we notice this not only on the birthday clock but also on the bears calendar of the group's , placing the preschool's mark on the figure of the day when it was born. This tells children that we will have a more special day, full of joy, smiles and song.Every morning we have a habit or ritual, which we call the morning meeting.

At morning meetings, we usually discover the tasks, the surprises of that day, we prepare for the theme of the day. These discoveries are enriched with songs, poems, sayings, riddles, memory games, communication games, motion games, refreshing gymnastics. These things happen after we've updated the calendar (season, month, name of the day, observing the outside weather by placing the token according to the weather). Then follow the message or the surprise of the day.

When we celebrate a birthday party, during a morning meeting before discussing the daily activities and past-day experiences, we mention who is the day's celebration.

In the message of the day we will formulate a desire and a wish for the one who celebrates his birthday that day. When we celebrate, we call the day: A special day full of fulfillment.

After having lunch at the kindergarten's dining room, we invite the celebrant to stand up in a children's chair beside the group colleagues, holding the cookies or even the cake brought home.

After these workouts, children will sing „ Happy Birthday” to the celebrated  in Hungarian.

At noon, after lunch we stay in the kindergarten's dining room. Here we will sing Happy Happy Happy Birthday (Judit Halász's song - a song loaded in videos). And parents are involved in this day because they will bring delicious fruit juice, tea, cakes or mousses that day .

As we sing, the celebrant climbs up on a children's chair with the cakes in his hand. During the ceremony, we listen to birthday songs (songs loaded on video) and then we will dance a little. While eating delicacies, children wish them beautiful things, good and useful for those who celebrate their day. In these wishes, the children express their best wishes for the celebrate, to be healthy, happy, intelligent, worthy, mentioning their willingness to receive the toys they want to celebrate.

In the afternoon, we make a greeting card, which will be cut with scissors in the form of a year's figure (example: number 3, if the preschool has completed three years, etc.). On these congratulations, we apply as many symbols as how many years he spent in the season and the moon in which he was born (for example: if the preschool was born in autumn, then we stick on the card: apples, pears, colored leaves, ducats etc.).

Subsequently, older children (for example, children aged 5) sign the greeting card by writing their own name on the card. Instead of the younger children, we, the teachers, write the child's name. We also decorate the postcard with a bright, colorful powder.

The afternoon, children can make small surprises for those celebrated: with flowers folded in paper, drawings, songs, etc.

This is how we celebrate our birthday at Kindergarten with extended program no. 11. from Târgu-Mureş, with joy, song, dance, surprises and many good things.
