    Kindergarten whit extended program nr.11. - Târgu - Mureș, ROMANIA

     

    Kindergarten with extended program nr.11. from Târgu Mureş, Transylvania, Romania, is located in the building  of the Mihai Eminescu Pedagogical Vocational High School.  Established in 2003 our kindegarten works as an application kindergarten for the students of the high school.

    We have three groups: one group teaching in Romanian for  20 preschoolers aged 3 to 6 and two groups teaching in Hungarian (our town/region has a large population of Hungarian nationals), also with preschoolers aged 3 to 6 years. In the  Hungarian groups (in which the national language – Romanian – is also taught) we have a total of 41 children (19 + 22) all of them belonging to the Hungarian minority.Due to the multicultural nature of the region in our kindergarten we try to transmit to the Hungarian kids the essence of the Hungarian culture through games, songs, stories, traditional festivals, (this knowledge will be enriched later in school) without loosing sight of the importance of the Romanian culture. From an early age we try teaching the national (Romanian) language to the Hungarian children to help them integrate later on in the larger community.

    Interculturality, respect for the others culture, habits and traditions are best taught in multi-language communities similar to ours. In order to reach this goal in our kindergarten we try to collaborate with colleagues having common meetings and methodology meetings as well as we organize common projects and celebrations through which the children from the different groups can get to know each other.

            Our Hungarian group is called WINNIE THE POOH (MICIMACKÓ) GROUP. Children are of different ages (3-6 years old), which has many advantages. The big ones learn to be more responsible while taking care of the little children in certain routine activities (hand washing, thematic walks, dressing and undressing before/after the afternoon sleep). Younger kids learn things easier and faster from older fellow group members.

    In a desire to support the parents our kindergarten has set itself the goal of creating a small universe in which every child can find an appropriate framework for education, formation of their own personality, discovery and  improvement of native abilities.

    The kindergarten offers children a playground in the courtyard / garden and an interior space with the following items:

    • lockers holding clothes and other personal belongings;

    • benches on which they can sit when they dress/undress or change their shoes

    • information panels that let parents know about the administrative issues concerning them and also the thematics of the week

    • children's work panels;

    • the room itself of the group is divided into sectors / centers equipped with tables, shelves, seats

    • there are also smaller limited spaces where 3-4 children can sit alone in a friendly environment;

    Vision:

    Under the motto "For You, Children, Everything Better" Kindergarten with Prolonged Program no. 11 from Târgu - Mureş aims to become a "Kindergarten for all children" by creating a high-quality, European level socio-educational climate, a democratic, creative and inspiring development environment for everyone.

    Mission:

    Promoting a modern education, in line with the education quality management standards implemented in the kindergarten, oriented towards/centered on the children.

     

    Providing equal opportunities for harmonious development for all children, regardless of race, gender, nationality, social and material condition or religious affiliation, coupled with encouraging a tolerant behavior among preschoolers, based on respect, understanding and cooperation;

    Harmonization of projects and programs adopted at the level of the kindergarten with the latest developments in the quality management theory and practice and with the European programmatic documents in this field.

    Our mission is to meet the needs of today's child in order to ensure his success tomorrow.

    Acquiring knowledge, improving motor and cognitive skills, competencies, attitudes, developing relationships and communication skills, managing emotions and maximizing the potentials of each child;

    Supporting the child in discovering and developing talents and interests or simply spending time in a pleasant, stimulating, creative way;

    Ensure a climate of adequate education and development for children, as well as ensuring safety and security in the kindergarten;

    Achieving effective partnership between family and kindergarten;

    Permanent development and modernization of the kindergarten, the   material and information basis.
