Hi! Socrates was a classical Greek philosopher considered one of the greatest philosophers of both Western and universal philosophy. He was Plato's teacher, who had Aristotle as a disciple, these three being the fundamental representatives of philosophy of ancient Greece.

    Well done Alba!

Hello Alba, hello guys from Spain!
I will tell you something that I think you will be very interested in!
The great writer Miguel de Cervantes fought in my city! The medieval name of Nafpaktos is Lepanto.

In 1571, in the gulf of Lepanto, there took place a great naval battle between the Ottoman fleet and the Christian fleet under the admiral's command Don Juan of Austria.

In this battle, Miguel de Cervantes lost his left hand that remained paralyzed. I took for you some pictures from my town's port with the Cervantes statue.

The roman empire conquisted Spain,Italy,France... The roman empire was big.

Ancient Rome was a powerful and important civilization that ruled much of Europe for nearly 1000 years . The culture of ancient Rome was very important. Rome falls in 476 AD because an Germanic barbarian by the name of Odoaker took control of Rome . he became king of Italy and forced the last emperor of Rome ,Romulus Augustus to give up his crown .

THE FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE

The Barbarians invaded Rome in 212 AD. But there was also a big problem was that the Roman men no longer wanted to serve in the army. The pay was not great. Sometimes the legion was not paid at all. Most men did not want to be away from their families and farms for long periods of time. The Romans tried to solve this by hiring Barbarians to fight for them.

THE FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE

The city of rome was thought by many to be unconquerable.Howere, in 410 AD, a Germanic barbarian tribe called the Visigoths invaded the city. They looted the treasures, killed and enslaved many Romans, and destroyed many buildings. This was the first time in 800 years that the city of Rome had been sacked. In 476 AD, a Germanic barbarian by the name of Odoacer took control of Rome. He became king of Italy and forced the last emperor of Rome, Romulus Augustulus, to give up his crown. Many historians consider this to be the end of the Roman Empire.
