Creating a MOOC - Learning about NIKOLA TESLA

  •

Throughout the year, we worked together at creating a MOOC about NIkola Tesla.

First, we did some research on Nikola Tesla with the help of our penfriends, to communicate we used the forum and email.

Then the French team made some videos, with the help of the Serbian team, gathering all the research into educationnal videos that would become the information for the MOOC.

Once the videos were done, the Serbian team took over and created the quizzes that would help the participants check if they understood the material.

They also created additional material for the participants to train and to have more ressources while taking part int he MOOC.

Then when we met in Serbia, we  pushed the research further. First we visited the Tesla Museum where we took part in a few experiments.

Then, the students from the Physics university came to show us some more experiments.

we all took part into a science workshop, to check if our work had been understood. We had two missions. The first one was to build a dynamo lamp from a kit. For this, we were put into groups of four with two pupils from Serbia and two pupils from France, we had to speak in English in order to get organised and build the lamp.

During Mission 2, we had to make a tutorial video explaining how to build the lamp and how tesla's discoveries contributed to the building of this lamp. Here is an example of one of the videos we created, you can check the others in the material section, in the "science fair" folder.

At last, we edited the mooc and put it on a free educational platform: Eliademy.

Here is a screeenshot of the MOOC:
