HELP FOR THE BLIND

 

In our town there is an organisation that unites the blind  called LAAS.We decided to visit them and offered our help.In Jonava there are 85 people who belong to this organisation aged  from 35 to 90.They meet once a week at the centre to do some craftwork or rehearse with the musical group. Some of them are blind from their birth and some lost their eyesight  because of ilnessess. During our first visit we cleaned their office and washed the windows because it is difficult for them to do this.

During our next visit the blind people organised the concert for us, taught us how to use the Brali letters, showed very simple things they use in their daily life,e.g; a calculator that produces a sound when you press on it,  blood pressure  monitors. We were given the chance to walk using special walking sticks for the blind.  And our new friends gave us some their hand -made presents
