About 1st HANSE workshop (Oulu, Finland)

  • 1st HANSE workshop held at OSAO Oulu between 3th and 7th April 2017. Our schedule is:

    • Monday 3.4.
      • 10.00 Finnish students meeting at school, room  117-118
      • 10.05 Bus nro 15 from Nallikari to school
      • 11:00 Meeting at school, Kotkantie 2 C
        • Welcome, presentation of OSAO Business and administration unit Mr. Antti Rovamo, Director
      • 11:30-12:30 Lunch at school
      • 12:30-17.00 Oulu tour and a trip to Koiteli by bus arranged by tourism students
      • 14.00 Finnish students leaving from school to Koiteli         

     

    • Tuesday 4.4.  
      • 8.05  Bus nro 15 from Nallikari to school
      • 8.45 Meeting at school, Kotkantie 2C
      • Introduction of participants, students
        • Each school at the time presents their students shortly (15 min/school, no PowerPoint)
        • Program for the week, Tiina
        • Introduction of the project, German teachers, coordinators
        • Objectives, steps, activities
        • Trying out games and comparing them. Written feedback. Criticism - meaning how can we improve them, not saying the games are bad. Finding out difficulties, e.g. games only work if number of Players is small, or difficult to calculate results. One student /school presents the game. Other students play the games in mixed groups and give feedback about games.

    • Wednesday 5.4.

      • 8.45 Meeting at school, Kotkantie 2C
        • Selecting the game for each school to digitalize. Improving games and trying out better versions if we have got some suggestions. Thinking about the use of Computers, what has to be implemented in the software, what about using Interfaces (Switches, models, game material) instead of the keyboard to enter game moves, ideas to make software more interesting = ideas for the Change from "games on desk" to "games on PC".
      • 12.30 Visit to Fingersoft
      • 14.30-16.00 Activities  in small groups in town (Arranged by Dino)
      • Free time in town

     

    • Thursday 6.4. 
      • 9.00-11.00 Outdoor activities in Nallikari (Ice fishing etc.)
      • 11.05 Bus nro 15 from Nallikari to school
      • 11.45  Lunch at school
      • 12.30-17 Writing the game design document and a project plan
      • 17-20 Getting together and celebrating, playing games and eating pizza together at school Arranged by Antti & Finnish students
      • 18-20 Dinner for teachers

     

    • Friday 7.4.     
      •  8.05  Bus nro 15 from Nallikari to school
      • 8.45 Meeting at school, Kotkantie 2C9.00 Visiting lessons in OSAO. Short presentation about your country, country and culture: “What a Finnish exchange students should know if he/she wants to come to your school/country”
      • 11.00-> Finishing work and keeping a record of the results, finishing work on the joblist for the IT students who will do the next step = writing Software. (students)
      • Teachers: Planning the next meeting in Velbert.

    We agreed that each school prepare one digital game (simulation) until secound workshop in Velbert.

    On Tuesday we we trying out board games ad comparing them.

    It was winter in Oulu and we enjoyed Winter activities in Koiteli rapids and on the sea ice.

    We visited game company Fingersoft.
