    Following emperors footprints

Last Friday 7.04.2017. some of our travel bugs went to search spring. We went to the place called the Emperor` s View . This place is named after Russian emperor Alexander II from 19th century when he visited this place. We started our hiking from the Emperors Chair , this is a huge wooden chair made in 2001 by artist Harijs Zemitis. But the most important thing that we found is  the first sign of Latvian spring - Blue anemone. It is sunny, but still cold in Latvia, but soon nature will wake up and landscape will be absolutely green. The place is situated in the valley of the Gauja river, protected territory of the Gauja National Park.
