Part 1: Responsibility for Ourselves and the Others

    We completed the first part of our project. It lasted for two months and covered the topic of Responsibility. We had the pleasure to host our wonderful guests from Carmen Conde School in the city of Leganes in Spain: the Headteacher Sonia Chennel Martin who is also a PE teacher, and Alejandro Vincente Pernia, an English teacher. We were happy to show them the effects of our work. They visited our school for five days during which we presented completed task of that part of the project.

    MONDAY

    October 16th, 2016

    A welcoming event at school

    On behalf of the school community, our guests were welcomed by Mr Andrzej Rorat, a Polish teacher in SP46. Students presented three typical Polish dances: Krakowiak, Zbójnicki and Polonaise.  All dancers and singers were prepared by Ms Malgorzata Kukula, a teacher of Music and Art. 

    Sonia and Alex brought some gifts for our school, an album presenting their school, a book about their city, many interesting handmade souveniers made by their young students:

    The Headteacher Mr Janusz Sikorski descibed the Polish educational system with some upcoming changes to it. You can read about that here:

     

    We could watch a Science lesson of Ms Agnieszka Górnik, a Science teacher at SP46. Some students from the classes 4, 5 and 6 brought to school their home pets which they care about. They talk about their daily routine with the pets and tell us about the habits, likes and stories of their animals. There were many kinds of them: fish, shrimps, cats, dogs, turtles, a rabbit, a hamster and a guinea pig, even a mouse.

    Students used English and one even spoke Spanish!

    TUESDAY

    „A CAPSULAR HISTORY OF POLAND” 

    In the morning, we were invited to watch a mimed play performer by students prepared by an Early Education teacher Ms Beata Szczygłowska (the author of the script for the performance) and a Maths teacher Ms Dorota Grocka Czepiczek. Students guided us through the history of Poland depicting several most important events. The play comprised elements of history knowledge and patriotism, values important for young people. Here is the entire script:

     

    Realization of the „KEEP FIT” programme

    in classes 2a and 2b „A day without sweets”

    Students prepared a healthy breakfast and a salad. They learned about vitamins and nutrition. Lessons were condusted by class tutors, teachers of Early Education, Ms Joanna Bartkowiak and Ms Justyna Malinowska. 

                                             

     

                                                           

                   

     

     

    Effects within the topic „RESPONSIBILITY FOR OURSELVES AND OTHERS”

    After observing the lessons, we gathered at the school gym for an assembley. Mr Andrzej Rorat presented the winners of the competitions. Younger students had prepared beautiful and meaningful posters, the older ones had wrote short poems. All the works promoted the idea of Responsibility, our topic for the months of September and October 2016.

    In the school hall, Ms Katarzyna Kupisiewicz - Wojnowska placed a tree. Instead of autumn leaves there are pieces of paper, where everyone is welcomed to write down any valuable and helpful behaviour noticed at the school:

    A history contest 

    „HISTORY OF CZESTOCHOWA AND KAWODRZA DISTRICT’

    detecting students' knowledge about the small and big homeland, was prepared and conducted by our History teacher Mr Michal Koziarz.  

    The competition promotes local patriotism, identity and the feeling of togetherness in the community. 

    Effects of the „KEEP FIT” programme realizastion,

    The programme aims at education on shaping permanent healthy habits among school youth and their families. It is being done by promoting principles of an active lifestyle and a balanced diet. It is based on an individual responsibility and free will of an individual person.

    Ms Agnieszka Górnik, a Science teacher and the school coordinator of the programme, presented activities undertaken in our school.

     

     

    PASOWANIE of the 1st GRADERS

    We had the pleasure to show our Spanish guests a tradition, common in Polish schools but unknown in their country: Pasowanie, a ceremony of the youngest students acceptance into the school community.

    Pupils of the 1st grade were prepared by their class tutor, a teacher of Early Education, Ms Katarzyna Kupisiewicz - Wojnowska. Many guests arrived at school: a representative of the City Counsil, a parish preist, all tutor teachers, older students and of course all the parents of the pupils. After the formal part, there was a meeting with students’ parents.

                                                                         

                      

                             

                         

     

    THURSDAY

    20th October 2016

    Presentation of the programme „WE SAVE AND TEACH HOW TO SAVE” 

    Students of class 6 presented the procedures of First Aid to learners of class 4. They were prepared by the school tutor teacher, Ms Monika Soltysiak who works with the topics on everyday basis.

    Knowing how to keep breath in an injured person is one of the first aid skills that students learn in the national programme organised by WOSP - the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.

                                                                        

                     

     

    Presentation of the programme „SCHOOL WITHOUT VIOLENCE”

    "School Without Violence" is another educational programme that our school took part in. The aim of the program was to prevent violence in schools by raising awareness, changing attitudes towards violence, and to provide schools with support and tools to combat this phenomenon effectively and systematically. It was introduced in Polish schools in the years 2006-2013 under the patronage of the President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski. Here in our school, the school teacher tutor Ms Monika Soltysiak was a school coordinator of the programme.

     

    Presentation of „SCHOOL OF SAFE INTERNET” programme realisation

    This is an educational, preventative programme addressed to both adults (parents, teacher staff) and to children. Aims are achieved through presenting a safe way of using the Internet, with respect for law and the netiquette and also providing for needs and rights of other people. Parents and teachers are properly prepared for being a responsible users of the Internet and a good example for young generations. Ms Dorota Grocka - Czepiczek is the school coordinator of the programme. Our school has been certified "A school of the safe Internet".

     

    FRIDAY

    October 21st, 2016

    A lesson of  „SAFE PUCHATEK ACADEMY”

    It is a cross national educational programme aiming at increasing safety of the youngest students of primary schools. It learns the younger students how to behave in the street, at home and at school in order to avoid common dangers. 

    Ms Katarzyna Kupisiewicz - Wojnowska, a teacher of an Early Education and a tutor teacher of class 1, working with her class 1, presented one lesson of the programme to our guests. 

     

    A lesson of „ZIPPY’S FRIENDS”

    "Zippy's Friends" is an international pedagogic programme. It is directed to the young students and in a very pleasurable way explains them social behaviour rules, dealing with their own emotions, difficult situations. The activities also show the young how to help friends who face a problem.

    In SP 46, Ms Justyna Malinowska is a trained teacher in the programme and she conducts the activities after her every day work in Early Education. She conducted one lesson of the programme in order to make our guests familiar with it.

     

    Farewell 

    There were students singing, dancing. Singers and dancers students were prepared by a Music and Art teacher, Ms Malgorzata Kukula.

    Our friends got some commemorative and mostly hand made gifts, an album in a form of a diary of the visit was prepared by a Swietlica teacher Agata Rytwińska Jarosz and an Early Education teacher Ms Justyna Malinowska.

    The Head teacher read a letter directed to students of the Spanish school of our visitors. We hope that students both of Spanish and Polish school will have a chance to meet in person somewhen in the future. For now, we promised to make more videoconferences to keep in touch.

    We were laughing, dancing, saying Goodbye and See you! For some it was hard to hide their emotions.

    Thanks to our History teacher Mr Michał Koziarz, students of class 6 had the chance to see and talk to the students of Sonia and Alex's school in Leganes in Spain. We all hope to see each other more often!
