Dystopia's people and their dependence on technology
Dystopia is an ultra-technical world. Everyone depends on high tech devices in their everyday life and at work.
Here's a poll to understand how important this dependence is. A representative sample of the Dystopian population has been asked if they own some technical products and the owners have been asked if they could do without if or not.
-
Comtool:
The comtool is just like your smartphone but with more developed functions.
For most Dystopian people it's a second brain... when not the first one. Some people even speak to someone just in front of them through their comtool!
-
AutoTranslator:
Because there are so many different languages on Dystopia, you can't learn them all. The autotranslator is necessary for people working in very cosmopolitan firms or travelling around the planet. Unfortunately this is very expensive and it has to be updated several times a day.
-
Medicoder:
The medicoder is an autonomous device which can monitor your body, detect health problems and establish a diagnosis. You often avoid going to the doctor's thanks to this device.
-
Inbodychip:
The inbodychip is a microchip that you wear under your skin. It's programmed to trigger actions at home or at work. For example it unlocks the doors when you arrive or switches on the light...
-
Flying car:
Traffic is so dense that it has to be managed in 3 dimensions. Flying cars allow you to use the specific airways at low altitude. It's better than to be stuck on the ground. Flying cars are expensive but you are less likely to be stuck in a traffic jam in the airways than on the road... for the moment.
-
Hoverboard:
Hoverboards are like skateboards but they fly and are equipped with stabilizing gyroscopes that prevent you from falling. You can use them whatever the ground is like.
-
Carrydrone:
Carrydrones are drones that can carry your belongings up to 20kg. They follow you everywhere 1 m above the ground thanks to a GPS tracker communicating with your smartphone or connected wrist band.
-
ARG:
Augmented Reality Glasses display information in your field of vision. You can have all the information you need about people around the table during a meeting at work, the prices of all the goods your are looking at in a supermarket or the way you have to follow in the street to go to your next destination...
