Picturetrain for the rainforests versus palm oil - why?

  •

    Picture-train for rainforest to Brussels.

Speak for animals from tropical forest.

Fight with us against cheap palm oil in Europe!

    The reason:

Last year I met with my astronomy-class the German Astronaut Alexander Gerst.

He was for 6 month onboard the International Space Station. He told us about the massive destruction of rainforest with hundreds of fires, which he had seen. And how sad and also dangerous it is -  for our future on planet earth. Palm oil is one of the big reasons for the rise of greenhouse gases.(http://www.esa.int/esaKIDSen/SEMKPE3E6OI_Earth_0.html)

So me and my students decided to do something to help the rainforests and its species.

We did a lot of donations for a German tropical foundation „Oroverde“. During the time we realized that , we –  the customers -  in Europe are also to blame for. We literally eating the rainforest,  because of the huge amount of cheap palm oil, which is in our food.

But it is also hidden in cosmetics, candles and cleansing materials behind about 80 chemical names. Nobody can know.

    Our idea:

In place of the animals - the pupils want to speak for them, fight for their rights in a letter to our European government. Therefore we write and paint an exceptional artistic letter to Brussels- the Picture-Train, which can´t overlooked.

The EU Commission for Climate has to do something against this massive use of cheap palm oil in Europe. And they have to, because they also signed the contract of Paris COP21 (Climate conference 2015).

    Our claims to Brussels:

    1) Stop the increasing amount of cheap PALM  OIL in Europe!

    2) Establish a law  for labelling PALM  OIL in cosmetics, cleansing material

and candles! The same as for food!

    3) Create an official seal/ signet for PALM OIL FREE  products, that a

customer  can  recognize at first view, if there is PALM OIL in it or not!

If one letter comes to Brussels - it´s good.

If more children help us and paint letter-trains - the better!

PLEASE HELP US ! Write a letter to EU CLIMATE COMMISSIONS in BRUSSELS!
