The Highlights of Finnish Education, Espoo, 20. - 26. 02. 2022.
“The Highlights of Finnish Education course have met all my expectations. The lecturers were well prepared, friendly, ready to help at any time. The participants actively participated, shared their experiences, and socialized nicely. We got to know the Finnish education system and gained a cultural insight into everyday life. I am happy to have been a part of this course. The course is well structured, the workshops are interesting. I will apply everything I have learned in my work with students: activities for motivation, trust, ways of learning and teaching, teamwork, cooperation. The visits to schools are of particular importance. It is an opportunity for an inside look at Finnish education and the creation of new contacts and cooperation between European schools.” (Danijela Riger-Knez, Hotelijersko-turistička i ugostiteljska škola, Zadar, Croatia)
“The name of course was “The Highlights of Finnish Education” and it took place in beautiful course venue Backby Manor and the course provider was EduBorealis. The whole course was perfectly organised and the teachers that held different workshops were very well prepared. Besides their professional qualities I must mention their personal qualities. They were all very kind, open, accessible und the atmosphere they crated was very stimulating, friendly and inspiring. All the activities we had were thoghtfully designed and perfectly organised, as well the workshops as the activities between the workshops. The workshops gave us an overview of Finnish education system and the other activities as e.g. nature studies, snowshoeing or swimming in a lake an overview in the Finnish way of life and their values. Almost everything we did, including excursion to the capital city Helsinki had a methodological and pedagogical value, showing us how to include team work and interaction between students in our everyday school work. Besides learning new methods, we learned how to cope with our daily stress and how to use mindfulness not just to improve our own life, but also of our students too. When I reflect the whole course, I realised that the positive pedagogy was vowed into all we did and I am very grateful that I had opportunities to learn how to empower my students and help them to improve their confidence. Although I am an experienced teacher (almost 30 years of experience) I learned some new things that changed me as a person and teacher. This course was one of my best experiences I have had and I am delighted I took part in it.“ (Jelena Bujas-Grubar, Hotelijersko-turistička i ugostiteljska škola, Zadar, Croatia)
“The course met all my expectations. The organizers were very cordial and accommodating all the time. They respected all our differences and tried to answer all the questions. The workshops were interesting and stimulating. We were all happy to participate and they made us team players. I will apply all trainings in my work and share the newly acquired knowledge with my colleagues. The visit to the vocational school was extremely interesting to me because we got a direct insight into Finnish education. I will recommend the course to all colleagues.“ (Matea Jurjević, Hotelijersko-turistička i ugostiteljska škola, Zadar, Croatia)
