Physics Festival in our School

  • In 8th of April the students from 10th form prepared about 20 experiments for their younger colleagues from 6th form.

    They explained the physical phenomena.

The younger students asked many questions and they were very pleased of the answers.

    Some examples of the experiments:

To light a candle with a glass.

    To hear the waves

    Hoe to build a compass:

What can we do with a prism and a light source:

    Electrical current from ketchup:

A lens from a bottle with water:

    Very strange equilibrium

    Flying of a ping-pong ball

Where is the coin? (Total reflection)

    Electromagnetic induction and Eddy currents

    The coin is singing:

Has the light of a candle a shadow?

Science Day in Tadeusz Kosciuszko High School of General Education in Wielun

Date 13th of April 2014 is a date of Science Day in our school. On that day we have hosted graduates- laureates of central level of Physics Olympiad. Very interesting lecture was given by doctorate Piotr Fita, winner of LVII Physics Olympiad, currently lecturer at Warsaw University Institute of Physics. Lecture was about time and its measurement methods. Students that partcipated in this lecture were able to talk with Mr. Fita and discuss both various physics topics and all aspects of studing physics faculty.

Part of the practical classes were demonstrations presented by the winners of the Polish National Competition called Physics Paths. Demonstrations were related to strength of pasta, toilet paper and use of the Seebeck and Peltier effect.
