MEETING IN ITALY

  • MEETING IN ITALY

From 3 to 9 April 2022 the second Learning/Teaching/ Training Activity was held in Capua, Italy. The topic of the meeting was "Today a reader, tomorrow a leader!" The meeting was hosted by the Italian school - ITET Federico II. The hosts had organized several workshops that presented digital tools that can be used for school and extracurricular activities or project work – Kahoot, Story Map and Canva.

Kahoot is a free game-based learning tool that makes learning fun. It requires a minimum of technical experience to create quizzes, surveys and discussions. Story Map is a graphical web organizer that helps to make sense of the learning content and effectively organize information and ideas. Canva is a graphic design platform used to create visual content. It can be used to create lessons and encourage creativity, collaboration and visual communication.

The workshops were led by the Italian students and teachers. The focus of the workshops was on teamwork, creativity and communication skills of students. The training was conducted in international groups for the purpose of linguistic and cultural interactions between the participants. The project activities finished with group presentations.

The mobility in Italy gave the students the opportunity to communicate with their peers from other countries, to work together in international teams on assigned tasks. This increased their motivation to improve their communication, language and digital skills. The opportunity to experience different learning practices and teaching methods developed skills such as ability to adapt and act in new situation and work with people from other cultures.

The cultural program included visits to museums in Capua, Herculaneum, Pompeii, Naples, Caserta and the Amalfi Coast. The knowledge of the host country’s culture and society improved the intercultural competences and created sense of European citizenship.

The dissemination of the project results will be done in each one of the partners’ schools. The students that took part in the mobility will conduct workshops in their own schools and explain to their peers the use of the digital tools and how to create a new content with them.
