All the material is found on a Google Classroom task. We also did the project evaluation with Survey Monkey.

Online meeting with class 4A of eTwinning School "IIS Galileo Galilei" High school with their teacher Ms Rita Ogliari. They introduced their eTwinning project "Te@ch with Tech" and we talked about our project on fake news and the final collaborative step. They showed us interesting examples of disinformation and fake news and the results of a survey submitted in their school about use of social media. A discussion about how teenagers use social media followed.

Recap online lesson on FAKE NEWS:

We also completed a collaborative Google Document with ideas and brainstorming to fill in the mind Map with Mindmeister.

Finally we suggested some topics for FAKE NEWS writing in the shared Google Documents shared for each international team.

    22nd Feb. 2021 (English)

Here is the presentation of our lesson:

    1) We watched two videos and took some notes:

    https://youtu.be/V4o0B6IDo50

    https://youtu.be/1JMyxROfkLM

    2) We did some brainstorming and tried to reply to these questions:

    What is fake news?

    How can we recognize it?

How can we stop it from spreading?

    3) We liked the C.R.A.P. strategy to spot FAKE NEWS:

    C.R.A.P. test

C      current. Is the news old?

R      reputable. Is the article from a reputable site?

A      author. Who wrote the article?

P      purpose of point of view. Is the article trying to sell or convince?

    The best advice is to:

    Be critical

    Use your common sense

In case of doubt do some sleuthing (careful investigation)

Don’t make, share, send or like FAKE NEWS

    Beware of the clickbaits

    Always cross-check

    4) We looked for FAKE NEWS, in Italian and English, on the net and highlighted features.

    5) We also did this online activity:

We did brainstorming on a Jamboard  and tried to define the meaning of FAKE NEWS analysing each word.

During our online lesson we answered these Google Forms Questions about FAKE NEWS and TIPS FOR A STRONG PASSWORD.
