  • About the project

    With the help of this project we want to promote cultural awareness and intercultural understanding among our students. We aim to teach learners about cooking and culture. Cooking techniques and ingredients vary widely across the world and reflects unique environmental, economic, and cultural traditions and trends. The participants are anticipated to cook their own traditional food and write recipes in English. The main idea of this project is to learn different cultures and introduce it to each other via traditional local food.

    Aims

    The project will develop the student's abilities, creativy, skills and communication effectiveness in a foreign language. Communicating through English, students will be able to tell about eating and drinking habits, share their personal likes and dislikes on food and beverages, compare their traditional food with other cuisines from a foreign country.The students will learn to identify most foods, and also learn collocations with foods such as preparing, the techniques of cooking ,in addition, they will learn serving. The students will share information about interculture via food.With these in mind, participants will improve their skills in foreign language.

    Work process

    JANUARY 2021

    - Partners teachers present the project to their pupils and give the consent forms for pupils and parents to sign. 

    - Teachers invite pupils on the twin space ( only pupils with the consent forms) 

    - Pupils create logos and posters for the project . Then teacher put the logos on the twin space and add them in the Logo proposal and votes sections. 

    - Pupils and teachers vote to choose the official logo for the project and the best posters to advertise the project. 

    = VOTES  should take place in the last week on January. 

     

    FEBRUARY 2021

    -Partners collaborate to create a Wordcloud illustration for the project. 

    - Partners write presentations ( pupils and teachers) for the twinspace. 

    - Partners introduce their schools and cities ( power point, video, genially interactive presentations..) 

    -  Pupils will learn about  netiquette and media literacy to work together respectfully in the Twinspace 

    - Creating the International Teams

     

    MARCH 2021

    - Picture dictionary: working in international teams pupils will create a "Great Chefs" picture dictionary presenting vocabulary about the topic. 

    -A collaborative 'Proverbs Related to Food' video: pupils work on sayings about food in English and in their own language and produce a video. 

    -Eating habits and traditions : pupils will work and exchange on their eating habits through questionnaires, videos, collages etc... and compare eating habits in different countries and how their habits change because of Covid and lockdown. 

    - Traditional dishes:  pupils work on traditional dishes from their city / local area and introduce them in the Twinspace.

    APRIL 2021

    -Pupils will cook traditional recipes and share videos , they will produce crafts and presentations to illustrate the traditional food, drinks and meals of their countries. 

    - Safety during a pandemic: Students will prepare posters about the safety during the Covid 19 pandemic.

    -Mindmaps about the project.

    - International Restaurant Menu: International teams will discuss the menu on Forum and meet on Zoom  to create an International Restaurant Menu.

    -Exhibition in each school

    -Preparing the project certificates.

    - Celebration activity of the 9th May e-Twinning Day

    - Common poster activity

     

    JUNE

    Evaluation and Dissemination of the Project

    Final products ( Exhibition in each school, Picture Dictionary, Proverb Video, European Cook Book, International Restaurant Menu, Food Poster Activity and Video) )

    Expected results

    Active learning will be the key for the students in every step of the project.The students will gain self-confidence both in communication and collaboration with others.The project is intended to develop communication skills,research techniques ,critical and creative thinking, collaboration on the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage.
