BIOLOGY OF PLANTS

Sunday: Welcome at school with the headmaster, local team and families, spreading of students in host families following the plan organized by the host country.

Monday: Icebreaker activity to get to know each other quickly. Due to the sanitary gesture, teams of two (partner student and his host), one student presented the other one. Crossword about the organization of the school. Visit of the school. Meeting of teachers. Visit of a vanilla coopérative at Bras-Panon (steps of the culture and the transformation from the flower to the pod ready to be sold).

Tuesday: Visit of a botanical garden (Le Domaine du café grillé) to discover exotic and endemic plants. Snorkelling in the lagoon to discover the biodiversity.

Wednesday: Lecture about Biology of plants (digital presentations will complete the oral part) by students, according to the tasks spreading among the mobility. Lecture of local professionnals: eRcanne about the culture and valorization of the sugar cane, Sanassy Dusquesne about melliferous plants and the balance to keep between the invasive side and the melliferous properties of some plants, Guillaume Payet from the National Park about the biodiversity and its threats. Exhibition of posters on the same topics exhibit in the lecture theatre.

Thursday: Excursion to the active volcano and visit of the museum. Goodbye party with local staff, hosts families. Introduction to the local music, the Maloya (UNESCO Heritage).
