Teachers training in Slovenia August 2022

  • As part of the SUIT Erasmus project, teachers from Germany, Estonia and Slovenia met in Nova Gorica to participate in a three days‘ teachers training. The training took place at the partner school in Slovenia.

    The objectives of the training were:

    1. acquisition of knowledge of the topic „Enhancing awareness for environmental issues and sustainability of students“
    2. exchange of ideas concerning these issues to develop new ideas for lessons and dealing with new approaches to teaching and its didactic implementation

    On Monday 22 August participants took part in a workshop/ lecture on the topic „sustainable usage of natural resources and how to implement results of research in lessons“. The lecture particularly dealt with the circular economy.

     

    On Tuesday 23rd of August, the second day of the teachers’ training, all attendees visited the local landfill, waterworks and recycling centre. There, teachers could talk to the different guides and engage in discussions regarding environmental issues. Teachers then engaged in a discussion on how to use their newly acquired knowledge for lessons and course planning.

    On Wednesday 24th of August all visitors and local participants of the teachers‘ training attended a presentation by a team of IT-technicians responsible for maintaining, repairing, reusing and recycling of IT-devices at the Slovenian school. The teachers’ training as well as the overall project were evaluated. In addition, participants had the opportunity to discuss how to continue further cooperation together with representatives from all the colleges involved.
