First Students‘ Online Conference – Kick-off Meeting for Students
On 4 December 2020, all students taking part in the Erasmus project had the opportunity to meet online for the first time. Students from Germany, Estonia and Slovenia participated in an online conference, which took the entire school day.
Many students were rather excited – most of them did not only participate in an international student conference (consisting of 60 students and 10 teachers from three different countries) for the first time but also they had to work online in multinational groups, speak English all the time and publish their project results on a webpage.
At the beginning of the meeting, project activities were presented to all participants by the German project manager. Then a Slovenian teacher introduced everybody to the planned tasks and demonstrated how to publish content on the project webpage. Students then had to work together in multinational teams (consisting of two German, two Estonian and two Slovenian students each) in private chatrooms. In these chatrooms, the teams first got to know each other, then they talked about things they are proud of in their own countries. At the end they interviewed each other about different topics such as sports, protection of the environment (waste disposal), nature, music, films, Corona situation in the different countries, computer games, etc. There was a teacher present in each of these chatrooms so that students could ask for help when required.
This was a tough day for everyone but everyone thoroughly enjoyed working with the partners and a lot of rather interesting results were published.
