The IC LA PIRA GENTILUOMO is a Comprehensive Institute including infant, primary and secondary school,  so students are aged from 3 to 14. It is located in a large village  called Camaro which is very close to the centre of Messina. The Secondary school, including children from 11 to 14 is just in one building, while the  infant and primary schools are located in five  more buildings.  There are 197 students attending the secondary school with  almost 30 teachers, 335  pupils at the primary school  and  219 pupils at the infant school. Classrooms are big and comfortable. Most of them are endowed with IWB,  a computer and a blackboard. The school is provided with a biology lab, a language lab, a technology lab,   a big gym and a large playground behind  the main building. Our school is located in a place where many families  are  socio-economically limited and their education level is low as well. So we try to better the students’ motivation with practical activities and  sometimes we have to provide them with school material. We also have children with  SEN (Special Educational Needs) in almost every class who are well integrated among their classmates. In order to be able to teach them we create adapted curricula for each subject.
