Blouse with "altiță" in the UNESCO Patrimony

The students of our college took part in the activities organized by the Days of the popular Vrancea costume.

This is an event organized by the Vrancea Museum, with the support of the Vrancea County Council and in partnership with the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History of the Republic of Moldova.

The purpose of this event is the introduction of the blouse with ,,altiță" (older than 200 years) in the UNESCO Heritage.

The name ,,Altița" refers to that rectangle on the sleeve of the blouse, which can have various motifs, symbols and is specific to our area.

    Activity no. 1: 16th June
Our students have admired the clothes of our grandparents and of the generations from whom they inherited them (older than 150-200 years), in an exhibition.
Taken from the deposits of the Vrancea Museum or sewn in contemporary seats, according to the old patterns, these costumes have a beauty and a stylistic richness that we can decipher with the help of ethnography specialists.

    Activity no. 2:17th June
Both students and teachers participated in a sewing belts workshop for folk costumes. The specialists have explained the techniques used, the symbols, floral, geometric, vegetable or religious motifs described an entire universe. Even our students have tried to sew such a belt.

By promoting Romanian folk costume we can reconnect to a tradition that it is always a source of inspiration.
