The short-term exchanges of groups in Marijampole, Lithuania

  • During February 19-25,2017 the  groups of pupils from Latvia, Lithuania, Turkey, Portugal, Greece in Marijampole enlarged their digital and entrepreneurial skills, educational background, improved communicative competence. Erasmus+ KA2 programme gave the ideal opportunity for the children and teachers to communicate with other children/colleagues in English, thus putting their digital knowledge into a meaningful context. The participants cultivated the ideal attitude towards European values and developed the spirit of understanding and mutual respect as well as promoted the acceptance and tolerance of the diversity of cultures and people. Students from each partnerschool presented of a song/piece of music/drama of one’s traditional aspect, prepared by them in advance.  Artistic performances connected cultures, broke the barriers, created friendship.  Participants got acquainted with Lithuanian culture, traditions, musical rhythms and school’s life and digital possibilities in Marijampoles sv. Cecilijos gimnazija, Lithuania. All project coordinators discussed short-term exchange event of groups of students in Greece, Rhodes and two main activities to be fulfilled till the end of the second project year.

    During the short-term exchanges of groups of pupils both students and teachers studied QR codes and Aurasma platform possibilities by implementing and presenting the Reality map: "My business card" using Aurasma app, as a fantastic self-promotion tool, participants promoted themselves in a very futuristic way. The activity allowed participants to share their innovative content on understanding entrepreneurial world using IT-based methodologies.

    Students used free available applications for business card creation: Business card Maker (for Android), Business card (for Apple). Both students and teachers examined the possibilities of the above-mentioned applications in Lithuania.

    The participants studied the possibilities of www. http://www.qrcode-monkey.com to create one’s own mecard with personal information and uploaded the created QR codes to their business card. Students created the digital content about themselves to be uploaded into Aurasma, the industry-leading augmented reality application.

    4 students and 2/3 teachers (depends on the country) from each partnerschool were involved into this short-term exchanges of groups of pupils in Marijampole, Lithuania.  20 “trigger” images of business cards were printed out to present the students job, to play the media when pointing the device (smartphones, tablets) at it.
