A good example coming from Portugal
«Todos os dias guardo dentro de garrafões de água tampas das garrafas de água, iogurtes e detergentes, para entregar a um menino que precisa delas para angariar dinheiro para as terapias e tratamentos./ Everyday I collect the plastic bottle caps inside a big plastic recipient. Then I give them to a little boy. He needs to raise money for his treatments.» Gonçalo Cavadas, PTclass6.6
Another good example coming from Serbia
Plug for handicap
In Serbian schools is carried out humanitarian action called "Plug for handicap". It consists of collecting corks from bottles for recycling and the money raised is for buying wheelchair for disabled persons. The aims are:
ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS - preschool and school children from an early age have to acquire habits that any waste can be recycled and the subsequent processing and re-creating a product.
HUMANITY - predjuce towards people with disabilities as well as to meet with their problems.
EDUCATION - the simpler approach to children issues and the needs of people with disabilities and the importance of collecting plastic waste through creativity and art of recycling and its further process.
Some students and teachers were creative so we got some interesting mosaics. Check the BLASTIC gallery page.
