Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection . It was first held on April 22, 1970. Now it includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EARTHDAY.ORG (formerly Earth Day Network) including over 1 billion people in more than 193 countries.

Pupils and teachers from six European countries cooparating in Erasmus+ project are  engaged in Earth Day Week actions this year. All activities are focused on the environmental issues that the world faces.
