CEIP DOCTOR GREGORIO CHIL Y NARANJO
Hello. Our school (CEIP Doctor Gregorio Chil y Naranjo) is at Telde, a city of Gran Canaria (Canary Island, Spain)
Our Educational Center has about 230 students with 10 classes and a staff of 20 teachers.
Actually, the Center is initiating a new stage of changes and improvements with a renewed teaching staff, based on two fundamental pillars:
1) Innovation (methodological and technological) and
2) A Coexistence Project that aims to improve professional and personal relationships among all members of the educational community.
The educational project is based on an ICT Innovation Project that serves as the backbone of all curricular areas, and a set of Projects that aim to energize the rest of the educational activity for the motivation of students and methodological change: Artistic and ICT Project, relaxation and Multipurpose Room, CLIL, School Garden, etc.
• School's motivation
We are in the age of innovation and computational development. Our students live in a continuous environment of images, videos, technology, art and games based on music and video creation. For this reason, teachers and the school must be updated on this innovation, handle creative and interactive multimedia materials through which our students feel more motivated to learn. and prepare to address other new learning systems: coding, problem solving, analytical thinking, gamification, etc.
The presentation of this project brings us closer to these new concepts and encourages us to work with our students in these types of concepts, sharing with students and teachers from school partners our educational and learning experiences in these areas.
Moreover, our Center has launched an Innovation Project “My ICT-TAC digital backpack” based on the use of the Digital Books (for students and for teachers). This project is linked to an artistic project called "Multimedia Musical Tagoror", which aims to unify an interdisciplinary and globalizing work, based on the use of ICTs, music, performing arts, bringing it closer to the rest of the curricular areas. This eTwinning Project could allow us to further boost our innovation and learning objectives, united to the scientific vocations of the STEAM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics). We also intend to bring our culture closer to the knowledge of other European cultures and learn about other learning methods developed by our Project partners.
• Key people in charge of running the project? • Specific experience or expertise that this school and its staff

The rest of the eTwinning+ team are Head of Studies and Secretary: they are foreign language teachers, with experience in methodological innovation and a group of at least 8 teachers.
