Jaunjelgava Secondary school, about 200 learners and 20 teachers, is situated in
the middle of Latvia. Most of our teachers are perfectly qualified for their subjects and highly motivated, school is quite new and equipped with really modern equipment for all subjects including musical instruments and computers. We have special classrooms for every subject, so equipment can stay in all the rooms. We also have a school boys' choir, a folk dance group and other extra activities for all our learners. Our teachers are ready to take responsibility and have experience in organizing events and eager to do different kinds of activities locally or internationally. The school has some deep-rooted traditions. No school festival can be imagined without our young dancers or singers who take part in most school and regional events. We are also proud of our young artists who constantly receive regional and local awards for their accomplishments. Jaunjelgava Secondary school is keen in organizing a new creative project for learners.

Previous participation: Comenius project "Caught by the sounds of Europe" (2011),  Erasmus+ "Let's make music on in the classroom!" (2015).These projects have been met with great enthusiasm and motivation from both learners, staff and parents so we are keen to explore new opportunities. Also we would like to have the opportunity for pupils, staff and parents to learn more about other countries, it would also be a good opportunity to further develop community links. For us, it is very important to develop and practice the skills of our students considering their age. Our main goal is the give to the students the values of both our national inheritance and the European cultures. We can easily share our experience with the other participants to enrich our cooperation. Our school has many "good practices" what we use in our regular teaching routine, and we adopt to other schools. We can use many of them in this cooperation, to show new approaches and methods how to work with them. Lot of our teachers were involved into projects in the previous years, and gained many experiences in European projects, and cooperation between different types of schools with variant social and cultural background. We have an experience with participating in projects, therefore, we would like to share our knowledge and experiences with those who will be involved in this Erasmus+ project. This projects will improve students' skills and knowledge. The music teacher will have opportunity to share her experience and teaching methods with the partners from Europe countries. We have got lots of useful and creative ideas about using Music in our lessons. We suggest doing at first local activities and during this process we will prepare for creative and
educational international meeting like an exchange of experience. Likewise, our partners will be able shadowing lessons. We hope they are open minded and they are keen on adoption of new methods.
