First we went to the high level water tank in Backnang. Mr Schröder showed us round and explained everything to us.

Show on a map, where does the drinking water come from in Backnang, Germany.

The region of Stuttgarts gets the drinking from the Lake of Constance.

Backnang is in the nort east of Stuttgart about 23 km away. We get 80% of our water from Donauried and Dischingen, that's in the grey section and the end of the blue lines. The other 20% come from the sources near Sulzbach.

The following map as well as the photos present where the drinking water comes from in Galatsi, Greece.

How many kilometers is it from the four lakes to Athen ?

It is 188,0 km from the Lake of Constance to Stuttgart.,  Atilla and Rifat Germany

The dams on the rivers of Evinos and Mornos are at a distance of about 250 km from the city of Athens. The lake of Iliki lies at a distance of 102 km from Athens whereas the artificial lake of Marathon is quite close to it, at only 32 km!

Let's comment on our drinking water sources!

We feel indeed blessed to have the infrastructure which allows the city of Athens, as well as our hometown Galatsi, to have safe drinking water on a permanent basis. The Greek state has always attended to maintain and expand the water supply network.Don't forget that almost six million people live in our city. That is about half of the population of Greece!

    Dear Thomas,

it is the same in Germany, we didn't know before, how lucky we are. Clean drinking water was a  matter of course  for us before we started the project. Now we appreciate it!!!

6 million people that is a lot. In Baden-Württemberg live 10,6 million people and that is the whole region. In Backnang live 35.000 thousand people.

In Germany live about 80 million people.
