Introducing the project in our school

    France

We did the first meeting at school the 4th of september with our Erasmus+ team.

Presentation of the Project to Greek colleagues and parents.

Giorgos plans with Kimon the Mind Mapping workshops in Kimon's lab garden.

Before the Project begins: many meetings, 2 workshops and a lot of discussions and planning in the Greek school.

The beginning: the story of this project

How the idea of the project became a real project

" At the end of our previous Comenius project the Greek school got the final 20% of the total grant and we thought that should do something with this amount of money instead of sharing it to our colleagues. So we decided to visit Kimon Kambouropoulos' lab in the upper town of Thessaloniki and during 2 sequential Saturday afternoons we were educated by him in Mind Mapping. We consider Mind Mapping as a very innovative thinking tool. After the education series, we thought to do more about Mind Mapping and we searched and found partner schools from European countries and so we applied for a new Comenius project. Due to a bureaucratic law in Greece though, (we couldn’t apply unless 3 years had passed from our previous project) our school was rejected but the 3 other partners were approved and realised the project which had been planned by us. In the meantime Erasmus+ was introduced and at the same time we learnt about Multiple Intelligence theory. We got the book that Eleni Garyfalaki about Multiple Intelligence wrote and we decided to blend these 2 innovative techniques and once again to search for new partners. So last year we contacted Eleni Garyfalaki and her lab Kalos Agogos and 7 new partner schools BUT as we had a private lab as a partner we contested in another category (schools with Universities or other non formal or formal institutions and not in the Schools 2 Schools partnerships category). Only 5 projects were approved in Greece and our project was 9th but we had very good reviews by the Greek NA. It was a great relief that our partners believed in the project and decided to give the project one more chance. In the meantime we contacted the French and another Portuguese school and here we are today with a wonderful project and with 87/100 grades our school is the one of the only 2 coordinating primary schools in Greece."
