In the evening we will invite some friends, eat, talk, remember good situations of the year and wait for 12 o'clock to say "Happy New Year 2020" and eat, talk, remember good situations of 2019 again and have fun!
People living in big cities in Turkey traditionally celebrate the New Year in city squares where they can watch fireworks at midnight between New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
We are good friends so we always celebrate the New Year together with our families. We eat delicious food, we play and wait for the countdown.
We start New Year's Eve with a big family dinner. Then we play games while waiting for the clock to strike midnight and exchange small gifts at midnight.
I go to city centre with my family late on December 31 to watch the traditional fireworks.
We play bingo ,monopoly, uno and do puzzle.
My grandmother smashes a pomegranate on the front door at midnight. She thinks it will bring good fortune.
We buy lottery tickets and wait for the the announcement of the winning number on TV
