We are six schools from all over Europe participating in this project, looking for happiness.
Özel Kardelen Ortaokulu is located near the town of Uchisar (3,700 population) in Cappadocia region where fairy chimneys were formed by the eruption of the active volcanoes such as Mountain Erciyes and Mountain Hasan in Central Anatolia region.
Özel Kardelen Ortaokulu is a private school providing education for the students between 11-15 years old. Our school has 320 students and 23 staff. We start our day at 9 o’clock and finish 4:30, we have 8 lessons a day. The school building has classrooms, ITC room, Physics and Chemistry and Natural Sciences laboratories, Art Education ateliers, library, gym, four outside fields and auditorium. Besides curricular activities, we have many clubs where students can develop their skills in subjects such as physics and chemistry, mathematics, foreign languages, physical education, sport and healthy living, computers, environment, art and music.
OŠ Pušća (Primary School Pušća) is a state school situated in Donja Pušća, a village near Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. It´s primary public school for pupils 6 to 15 years old. All together we have 328 students and 43 teachers. Donja Pušća is a quiet, suburban part of Zagreb where many young families have moved to live a more peaceful life, away from the city noise. Many people own a house.
All our classrooms are equipped with computers, TV sets and DVD players. The school also has laptops and LCD projectors that the teachers freely use for their lessons. Moreover, students can use the Internet at the school library and in the computers room. Our school aims at providing students with the basic learning tools that they need in order to learn more and become active EU citizens. In 2012 our school also bought a new interactive white board.
At present, there are 246 students in our main school and 82 students in our branch school.
The Dr. Horácio Bento Gouveia School is located in the urban area of Funchal and started activity 30 years ago. With recently remodelled facilities, the school has over 200 teachers and 1600 students, 10 to 16 years old.
Besides curricular activities, clubs and projects are streamlined in various fields of knowledge and human development, such as physics and chemistry, mathematics, physical education, sport and healthy living, social support, photography, computers, environment, music, arts, education on the road.
The school building has classrooms, IT rooms, Physics and Chemistry and Natural Sciences laboratories, Visual and Technological Education ateliers, ludic room, photography room with darkroom, first aid station, library, Psychology office, sports area with gym and four outside fields, auditorium with 300 seats and covered parking.
Zespół Szkół w Zbuczynie is a comprehensive school , it has more than 500 students and 50 teachers and includes: a pre-school teaching classes, where children start at the age of 5, a primary school for children aged 6-12 and a secondary school for students aged 13-15.
Our school offers opportunities for those more talented as well as children with special needs. We have students with mild mental retardation and with some disabilities and behavioral problems. For students who have any difficulties we organize extra classes where they can practice more, get help with their homework. The talented ones have variety of extra-curricular classes to choose from . We offer extra classes such as: sport (different disciplines to choose ), art, recitation, modern dance, choir, charity section and scout groups. We also organize school trips which let students know their country see different regions, learn geography or history in a much more practical way. At school we celebrate together Christmas, Easter, Independence Day, the First Day of Spring, Teacher`s Day, Valentine's Day, our School`s Patron Day, etc. and organize discos and theme parties for students.
The Istituto Comprensivo Salvemini is located in Battipaglia, in South Italy. It is divided into Infancy School, Primary school and Lower Secondary School. So its about 1200 students are from 3 to 14 years of age and they have differentsocial and cultural background also because the school consists of 3 different buildings situated in different places in town, with different economic situations. in our school There are science laboratories, computer labs and almost all our classrooms have Interactive Multimedia Board. Students start Learning English during the first year of Primary school (6-year-old Students), while during the first year of Lower Secondary School( 11-year-old students) they start studying a second EUropean language. But our school also organizes extra school courses to help its students to get international English Certifications, like Trinity and Cambridge ones. In the last years these courses, together with other on computers, were organized thanks to the help of European Union (PON-FERS).
We are a School with two sections (Primary Section and Secondary Section) We are a total of 1200 students approximately, between Secondary and Primary. This project is focused for the Primary Section (550 students). We are a total of 70 teachers approximately (31 teachers in Primary Section). The project will be held by the primary section of our school, ages six to twelve. We would like to focus and work towards understanding and tolerance, trying to develop artistic skills taking advantage of ICT, promoting a conscious use of social media as well as improving our students English. This is a good opportunity to work with our European neighbors, which brings us back to the beginning of our European Union roots.
