The meeting

  • The meeting in Pioltello from 27 to 29 October has been planned to discuss all the stages of the project, the contents and the methodologies of the different activities.
    The meeting is a Learning, Teaching and Training activity focused on these main objectives:
    1)    to acquire competences for the management of the eTwinning project linked to the Erasmus+ project
    2)    to acquire knowledge and competences about the natural and cultural heritage of the aquatic basins of the regions of the partner schools
    For the first issue there was a peer-to-peer training in which the most experienced teachers shared their knowledge with the others
    For the second issue
    -    During the outdoor activities the role of the network of the Navigli artificial canals in the economic and social development of the region had developed and a comparison with the aquatic environment of Romanian and Greek partner school had done.
    -    During the conference organized at school some experts (an engineer of CAP, the group managing the water service in Lombardy, a professor of the Politecnico di Milano and expert of Navigli, a group of students that carried out research about the water basins of the territory) had lectures about the safeguard of the water as a resource and about the aquatic environment of the territory. A comparison with the regions of the partner school had done
    During the meetings at school there was also a peer-to-peer training about social media strategies of communication and how to use socials for the implementation of the project.
    The logo of the project had also  chosen and at the end of the conference The Logo contest winner had announced and awarded.

    One part of our LTT activity was dedicated to present Milan and one of the evening the principal and some teachers of the IIS Machiavelli together with the guests from Romania and Greece took part in a concert at La Scala theatre.

    Thanks to this meeting the participating teachers could
    - acquire knowledge about the management of the eTwinning projects
    - acquire the knowledge and the competencies about the themes of the project which are essential to guide the pupils in its implementation.
    The great value of these kind of meeting is to come to life matters like team spirit, making friends, learning from each other.
    All the participants had some days off their usual routines back home; they met motivated colleagues from other countries, they challenged their English knowledge, being not their mother tongue, they reflected the project they will dedicate quite some in the next two years. Bearing that, they will provide this to their colleagues at home and will work as ambassadors of the project in their home schools.
