15 October 2017: arrival of the teams
Day 1, Monday: 16th October 2017
We were welcomed by the teachers and students, who have prepared for us a small show. Later students had some team-building and getting to know each other games. In the afternoon each team presented a traditional story from their country and set up the Erasmus + corner in the hall of the school.
Day 2, Tuesday: 17th October 2017
We had creative recycling workshops: Using cork to produce creative protections for tables, small wallets for coins and pencils / Making paper mache paste puppies - recreating marine species expected to see in Lisbon’s Oceanarium at the activity Sleeping with the sharks. Later, there was an exhibition prepared with the work of the students.
Day 3, Wednesday: 18th October 2017
Visiting Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra. We had picnic together and learnt about Portugal's culture and history.
Day 4, Thursday: 19th October 2017
Workshops about safe internet (choosing a password, protection of personal data, cyber bullying, social network, grooming, download/copy-paste/copyright, unverified information, internet addiction) materials used from Safe Internet Day, (videos, worksheets, links). Students worked in multicultural groups to create posters advertising safe internet usage. Students spent the night at Lisbon’s Oceanarium, sleeping with the sharks.
Day 5, Friday: 20th October 2017
Each participant put their hand print on a big poster and wrote a message about this meeting. In the evening we had a farewell dinner with karaoke.
The activity has contributed to reaching the objectives of the project. It had recycling workshops which developed students' creativity and ability to work in teams. The digital workshops about online safety made students aware of the dangers they might encounter in the digital world they live in. Moreover, it developed a positive attitude towards cultural differences and diversity, raised participants' interest in intercultural communication by working in multicultural groups.
