Hello! My name is Mihaela Onica and I teach French and English at Tismana Highschool ( L. T. Tismana).
Our school, L.T. Tismana has 518 pupils between the ages of 6 and 15. There is also a kindergarten near our school with 42 infant children. There are around 50 teachers working in L.T Tismana-they teach various subjects. The staff consists of 1 headmaster,1 deputy teacher,11 teachers for younger students (between 6 and 10 years old), 30 teachers for subjects like ( Romanian and foreign languages - French, English), Maths, Physics, Biology, Art, Music, Chemistry, PE, Technology etc.
Our school is situated in the small town of Tismana with approx.8000 inhabitants, near the famous Tismana Monastery from which it gets its name. There is a not such a long distance between our school and the capital city of Romania-Bucharest. Our town has a long tradition in traditional blouse sewing (ia) and carpets making, traditions which are alive today. The families come from medium socio-economic level and the students are very interested in international cooperation.
Our school runs multiple projects which encourage students and teachers to develop key competences like critical thinking, using smart technology and IT, encouraging entrepreneurship and exploring career orientation, etc.)
Our project team leader - this is me:)) is an experienced language teacher since 2008. She takes part in eTwinning projects and she is also experienced in teaching French and English languages. The other teachers are experts in their fields and they are always up for including project activities in their teaching lessons. Our team is very cooperative and willing to help each other and learn new approaches in teaching.
