Activity C5: Bragança, Portugal, 2nd - 6th November 2021

  • The meeting in Bragança joined together 20 students and 10 teachers coming from the participating countries plus the hosting teachers and students in Agrupamento de Escolas Miguel Torga.

    In this meeting oral tradition from the 6 participating countries was shared and the participants could take part in numerous activities that concerned several areas of oral tradition like folk songs, stories, music, proverbs, riddles, related to religion, village life, etc, through visits, workshops and presentations.

    The first day was dedicated to presentations and activities related to each country traditions and to visit the town of Bragança, first by touristic bus and then by walking from the town centre to the citadel and the Mask Museum, accompanied by a touristic guide from the Municipality, who, besides talking about the town and its history told some stories related to Igreja de S. Vicente and The Castle.

    In the second day, they could visit Miranda do Douro and be acquainted with the tradition of Pauliteiros de Miranda and participate in a workshop given by Paulo Meirinhos about popular music and instruments.

    The thrid day was deducated to a visit to Porto to know more about our countries history, through the visit to the museum World of Discoveries, and Casa da Música, a very emblematic building where music from all over the world is played. They could also visit the city centre and appreciate street art and architecture of the city.

    After all the visits it was time to compile everything. And for that in day 4 the group gathered at the school library to create videos related to the activities done before and from the videos also create some activities for the other countries to answer/solve.Still that day, the group gathered together for dinner.

    The last day was dedicated to work presentation, to hand the certificates and also to evaluate the activities done during the week.
