  • About the project

    “Christmas lights, Christmas bells hanging on the tree,
    I’ll send you a Christmas card if you send one to me”
    We want to share this Christmas feeling by exchanging handmade cards and good wishes. Every postcard will we written in the country language and also with an English translation. In every school we will make a map and look where the postcards came from and mark it. We will make pictures of the proces and the result of it. Around 20 participants are expected.

    AIMS

    -Send and receive Christmas cards.
    -Celebrate Christmas and learn how other countries celebrate it.
    -to share the unique Christmas feeling and bless others with good wishes.
    -Collaborate with other schools.
    -Create a common project.
    -Help children be aware of different cultures, languages and how big and different the Europe is.

    WORK PROCESS

    1. Students present themselves and their schools in our TwinSpace (November).
    2. We motivate our students to design and make Christmas cards (November).
    3. Students write short poems about Christmas, present a Christmas tradition and sing a Christmas carol. (November/December)
    4. We send the cards to every partner schools by traditional post (22 November ).
    5. A display on school's noticeboards showing all christmas cards from other countries that will be sent to our school (December).

    EXPECTED RESULTS

    A big European map full of postcards from other schools
    Photographs uploaded to TwinSpace
    Learn about different Christmas traditions, and other countries.
    Students using English as a tool of communication and getting in touch with pupils from other countries
    Expanding students’ cultural and geographical knowledge
    Sharing Christmas carols in different languages
    Communication, mainly in English, using various ICT tools.
