9/2019 | Start of a Twinspace “Our Spaces”: All partners are invited, links to this site and information on the project is put on the homepages of all schools. The students participating in C1 are chosen and invited to Twinspace. They upload profiles of themselves and look at each others profiles. |
Meetings of the national project teams: The project activities are coordinated. The heads of school are interviewed on their expectations and hopes connected to the project. |
Understanding the concept of public spaces: Questionnaires on what public spaces are and what they should provide are prepared and uploaded on the eTwinning site of the project to become available for all schools. In various subject lessons (English, Geography, Art, Economy, etc.) students fill in questionnaires on what public spaces should provide, evaluate the results, discuss the meaning and implications of the concept of public spaces (What is their history? Who uses them? What should they offer? How is safety garantueed?, etc.). They examine and present examples in their local area. If necessary the presentations are translated into English. The material is displayed on eTwinning and on wall displays in all schools. Students at the school hosting the first transnational meeting select public spaces for the workshop week. |
Creation of a logo: In arts lessons students discuss the project idea and create logos and mottos for the project which are displayed on eTwinning. |
Evaluation questionnaires: Self-assessment sheets for the students on how they rate their basic skills and awareness of public space are made, forwarded to all partners and uploaded to eTwinning. The participants of C1 fill in the self-assessment sheets. Evaluation sheets for the transnational meeting C1 are also made. |
10/2019 | At least one project coordinator from each country joins in an eTwinning online meeting on the management of the project. |
Preparing C1: The participants of C1 acquire some basic knowledge on the concept of public space and discuss the results of the questionnaires on the topic which were filled in by classes at their school. All national student groups select representatives who establish first contacts by social media of their choice. The national groups discuss ways of presenting a concept for a public space. They set up a preliminary list of materials, props and IT equipment they need for making such a presentation. These lists are sent to the country hosting the transnational project meeting. The students prepare getting-to-know activities, activities for breaks and a contribution for an evening of cultural exchange. The transnational meeting is planned by the hosting school in Estonia (booking a venue, selecting public spaces, providing materials, visiting local institutions, etc.). A detailed programme is sent to the partner schools. The national project teams meet. |
Parents evenings: The parents of the students participating in C1 are informed on the Erasmus+ programme and on the project idea. It is stressed, that the mobility is not a holiday but learning outside school and that this requires serious and considerate behaviour, e.g. that the students are to live in internationally mixed rooms and are to work in internationally mixed teams. Practical questions concerning the mobility are discussed. The parents sign declarations of consent concerning the trip and the publication of photos of their childrem in the context of the project. |
Europasses : Europass Mobility documents are applied for. Suggestions for entries on activities and skills are written. Europass Mobility certificates are issued to the participants after C1. The students of the host school get Europasses language in which the skills acquired during the international meeting are included. |
11/2019 | C1 - In November 2019 six students from each country meet in Estonia and form three internationally mixed project groups dealing with three different public spaces in Tallinn. In their groups they discuss what their public space should offer. They form three again internationally mixed teams who develop a concept and agree on how to present this concept. Teachers from all the partner schools assist the different groups. The results of the groups are presented at the host school. The local press is invited. Evaluation questionnaires are filled in. During C1 the project teams from all schools meet and discuss project management issues. |
12/2019 | Documentation and evaluation of C1: A file with photos and documentation of the workshops and their results is assembled, published on eTwinning and made available to all partners. The national students teams meet and evaluate C1. The student questionaires that were filled in after the workshop week are evaluated. The results are put on eTwinning. |
1/2020 | The results of the workshops are presented at all the partner schools (wall displays, digital or oral presentations). Articles for the schools homepages and yearbooks are written. Articles are sent to the local press, city planning departments, tourist agencies or other institutions potentially interested in the project results. On an Open Day for the local community and future students the project is presented. The national project teams meet and coordinate the activities. At least one teacher from every school joins an online meeting to discuss past activities and plan future ones. An agenda of the topics is sent to all partner schools before the meeting. Questions and wishes concerning C3 (first teachers meeting) are discussed. |
2-6/2020 | Using the results of C1 in lessons: The students who participated in C1 present their concepts in various subject lessons. The students of these classes select public spaces in their local community and discuss and develop a concept for this space. They prepare information sheets which are exchanged and presented at all schools and on eTwinning. They forward their ideas to the local administration and present it to the local community (exhibitions at the local library, etc.) |
3/2020 | During Open Days for the local community and future students the project is presented. C.1. - first teachers meeting in Finland: Two teachers from each country meet in Finland to learn about a more effective use of eTwinning. The national project teams meet. Together with the participants of C1 they plan the presentation of the concepts in various subject lessons. |
3-5/2020 | Students conduct or help with lessons on public spaces in which the materials created at C1 are used.
