Our project started in Sept 2019. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, the schedule planned was disrupted and we postponed the implementation for a year. However, during the pandemic era, we continued our communication and organised several online meetings via Zoom. Specifically:
1st -2nd - 3rd teachers meeting on April 24, May 7 and May 20, 2020.
- We exchanged our news about our schools and our countries in the pandemic era and evaluated the situation in all involved countries, the situation of the partners, their teams and students. Because of different personal and professional backgrounds (some schools continued teaching, some went online, some were already closed) we managed to stay updated about the current situation of all partners to support each other at a distance. Partners teaching online find it difficult to invest extra energy into starting extra activities online.
- We postponed our meeting in Germany (Bad Aibling/ May 10-16.2020) until further notice.
- Project coordinator followed a webinar of the Dutch National Agency (May 19th 2020) to get to know more information about the possibilities to carry on with the project in the future and informed us that there are a couple of options the whole team will have to agree upon: the extension of the project for at least 6 months, skipping a mobility and finish the project in time, more work online, a blended mobility (more info about what the last one is going to look like is coming from Brussels soon). All teams agreed on the extension of the project (the 1st step).
- Teams decided to wait till September, the new school year, to evaluate where we all stopped and first of all, what is the global health situation to be able to plan and proceed with the project. As some of the countries (Greece, Turkey) already open their borders to tourists, maybe we will start with Greece in October/November. Still, this is just a guess.
- All members, stated missing human presence, hugs and being close with students, colleagues. We all hope the international situation improves soon enough to re-start our mobilities in the autumn/winter. All teams agree that the main principle of Erasmus is the possibility to meet real people, get to know local culture, habits and all the historical/social backgrounds on the spot (that's what our project is actually about).
4th teachers meeting - 21 Sept 2020
