Meeting minutes

  • MINUTES DAY 1 - 18th OCTOBER 2021

    • Welcome speech by school coordinator and headmistress  
    • PRESENTATION of students outcomes  about sustainable tourism, entrepreneurship and the need of a start up in their regions. 
    • During the presentations, students of the other countries take some notes.
    • After the presentations, the students work in mixed groups and every group fills in a grid to  summarize the different businesses related to sustainable tourism  in the different regions and think of a possible need for a new start up.
    • Each group takes a different name  (Greek Gods Names) and is led by  leaders belonging   to the five countries participating.
    • While some teachers guide the different groups, the coordinators meet to 
    • evaluate the activities carried out so far 
    • discuss the dates of the next mobilities: they confirm the date of the mobility in Portugal that will take place from the 8th to the 12th of  November and the date of the mobility in Lithuania from the 7th to the 11th of February.
    • agree on uploading all the information about the visit in Omodos on TwinSpace: videos and photos and other documents produced during the week.
    • In the afternoon the four delegations are welcomed with a cheerful party during which they participate in a karaoke and are offered all kinds of traditional food prepared by the Cypriot families and teacher

    MINUTES DAY 2 - 19th OCTOBER 2021

    • Workshop 1: “startup companies” presentation by  Antigoni Komodiki CEO JA Cyprus.
    • Workshop 2: “Student Companies” guided by Antigoni Komodiki CEO JA Cyprus
      • students work in international groups to brainstorm a possible idea of start up for each country.
      • After brainstorming they fill in a form to prepare their Business Plan.
      • Presentation of the 5 different ideas to  Antigoni Komodiki who gives them advice in order to improve and make them feasible.
    • The five  international groups of students visit the following places in Omodos:
    • The Timios Stavros Monastery and its museums
    • The Medieval Grape Press of Ktima Gerolemo 
    • The Struggle museum 
    • Lace, Agiography
    • local business related to tourism 

    During the sightseeing they  collect information, take pictures,  shoot videos and answer a questionnaire

    • Coordinators meet to discuss the activities to be carried out in Portugal and agree that each country will present a traditional dance and the song project they have already created. They also agree on the date of the last mobility in Italy which will take place from the 26th  to the 30th of April.
    • Teachers are given a guided visit to Omodos by the coordinator, Yiannis Ioannou.

    MINUTES DAY 3 - 20th OCTOBER 2021

    • Workshop 3: students attend a lesson about pottery making in ancient times and are given some instructions to start working with clay.
    • Students and teachers make their own clayworks shaping clay into different objects: ashtrays, pots, vases, candle holders etc.  The best objects are awarded.
    • Visit to a sustainable local business which produces Loukoumi  in Phini village.
    • Visit to Hantara Water Falls
    • Visit to a local winery where the entrepreneur and owner Mr Harilaos Athenodorou gives a presentation on " How I started my start up" and offers different wine tastings to both students and teachers.

     

    MINUTES DAY 4 - 21st  OCTOBER 2021

    • Coastal Trip guided visit
    • Visit to  Kolossi Castle,  Curium Archeological Site,  Akrotiry environmental centre, Curium beach.
    • Visit to Limassol

    MINUTES DAY 5 - 21st  OCTOBER 2021

    • Workshop 4 : “Branding” held by Mr Yiannos Kouzaridis 
    • The students split into five international groups prepare 1 minute video presenting their idea of  start up “elevator pitch”.
    • The students  finalize their promotional video
    • Final outcomes and presentation of the 5 elevator pitches. 
    • Project closing ceremony - certificates of attendance are given to both teachers and students.  
    • the teachers greatly appreciate the work done during the meeting and the good balance between the project activities and the cultural visits.
    • all the  planned activities have been carried out with enthusiasm, responsibility and creativity by the students 
    • as for the activities to do after the visit the teachers  agree on  the following: 
    • the students of each country  will prepare a wrapping-up video showing their experience during the week.
    • the students, individually, will choose a meaningful photo of their week in Cyprus and write some reflections on their experience.
