Project Schelude

  • WORK PROCESS:

We will develop this project during the next six months, creating for it five specific moments, which will be complemented with other collaborative activities for both the International Day of Peace and Non-Violence, and for the day of the book and other proposed days along the development of the project. Even though the activities will be developed approximately every three weeks, a calendar will be created within the Project so as to establish it clearly.

GENERAL ACTIVITY: (It will be developed throughout the project) Every country, and therefore all Galaxies, needs a Constitution that reflects the rights and duties of its inhabitants. Our work as members of this galaxy is to create one, so that our luck dragon Falkor (Fújur in Spain) will visit each of the participating schools with a book that the Nothing has erased. In order to do so, we begin again to create our constitution among all and for us to take photos with him presenting our countries, our schools and our environment. Each school will write an article of that Constitution and they will illustrate it and send it to the next school. In addition, Falkor has also been affected by the terrible Nothing, so we will have to help him complete, so each school, in addition, will have to put some element (some eyes, others wings, others flakes... each one with his imagination will complete it). The completed book and the puppet of Falkor will be sent with our contribution to the next school. Those articles of the Constitution will govern our Galaxy.

FEBRUARY: FIRST ACTIVITY: Each participant class will create a poster (each one with the elements that it considers appropriate) that will represent its planet and whose inhabitants will be placed: the members of the class (through photos, drawings of the kids, some craft that represents them, etc.). We will share this photo and present our planet and its inhabitants in Twinspace, so that the rest (if wanted) can print the rest of the planets and create the entire galaxy in your own class. This will be the new Galaxy that we will have to preserve, so we will have to give it a name and create a common flag or logo that represents all of us. We will vote for this name and this logo or banner involving our students and their families. The winning school will have the honor of staying with the collaborative puppet that we will be building together with the dragon Fuyur.

MARCH: SECOND ACTIVITY: Once our Galaxy is formed, we will create the different Ministries that will help its operation to be correct and organize our work. The first Ministry will be the Ministry of Culture, who will be voted by the class and will represent it. Students can campaign and propose cultural activities to do in class or to propose in the project during their term. This minister will represent the class and will contact the rest of the culture ministers of the other classes to take the ideas or the work of their classes to Twinspace. In the case of preschool students will be the intermediary between the teacher and the class. In order to get to know the rest of the participating planets better, we will choose a well known painter from our environment and, by teams, we will look for information to share with the rest of the members. In addition, we will choose a painting (or two or three ...) and in groups we will recreate them in a photo (or in a mannequin challenge type video), to present these paintings to our European friends. In addition, the ministers will propose other famous paintings that we will vote for, the winner will be divided into black and white parts and each school will paint and decorate its part to create a common painting.

APRIL: THIRD ACTIVITY: Ministry of Radio and Television. As in the case of culture, we will choose a minister who represents the class and contacts the rest to establish and transmit the details of this activity. During this month, we will collect the most important news that happens in our schools and we will make recordings with presenters to share with the rest of the schools, or newspapers or radio broadcasts.

MAY: FOURTH ACTIVITY: Ministry of the Environment. The minister voted for this Ministry will be in charge of complying with the agreements related to the environmental activities carried out and proposed. We will create patrols that will monitor the use of recycling bins, also they will make children aware of the importance of not throwing things on the ground, etc. We will create awareness posters to put in our schools and share with the European schools so that they can use them. We will exchange seeds to create an European ecosystem within our planet. We will take care of the plants and share their development in the Twinspace.

JUNE: FIFTH ACTIVITY: Ministry of Leisure and Free Time. The voted minister for this Ministry will be in charge of deciding (with the rest of the ministers) which parts of the game goes to each school. Some of them will be in charge of creating the board, its aesthetics, its drawings... Others will be responsible of creating different types of cards so as to play: drawing cards, letters to guess words, memory cards, traditional game cards, questions cards related to the participating countries, gastronomy cards, cards of monuments ... (you can establish the categories you want to work and each country is responsible for making a few of each of their own country with an established format).

OTHER ACTIVITIES: For the Day of Peace and Non-Violence there will be an exchange of decorative elements related to peace that each school will place on the mural that represents their planet, as a symbol of the peace of our Galaxy of all its inhabitants. There is also a proposal to make a reader's passport, in which (depending on the books or stories chosen) when a certain number is reached, a Fantasy character is saved, and a reward is obtained. It is also an activity that can be planned for the day of the book.
