Mother's Day at San Andrea School Malta - Claire Azzopardi

  • Mother's Day in Malta is this Sunday 10th May.  The children in Grade 4 have painted a picture to show their mother how much they love her.  This picture will be placed inside a card and the surrounding area will be decorated to make it look as though it is framed.  Work on the card is still in progress.  Here are a few pictures of the initial stages of the card.

Also, throughout this week our mathematics topic was symmetry so the children coloured in another Mother's Day card saying 'WOW MOM' which linked math and art together.  This handout was downloaded from the net.

Today we continued to work on the cards mainly the front.  We brainstormed why we love our mothers so much and after, each child was given four circles on which they had to write their own reasons.

We used straws as stems and printed Monther's Day in our national language - Maltese.

The children framed their own painting inside the card using different techniques.

We are all so happy to be part of this project.
