Programme 'Hello Europe '

    TERM 1

     

    SEPTEMBER /OCTOBER

     

    1. “Hello, we are on Twinspace!”

     

     

    • Manuel + practice: Students will learn to login, manage their profile (language, password, picture,…) and write a short description about themselves.
    • Communication: students can read the descriptions and post messages on each other’s walls (just like in Facebook).
    1. “Hello, this is our project logo!”

     

    • Manuel + practice: Students will learn to make a logo for the project with the program Microsoft Paint.
    • Communication: Students will upload the logo in the file “Hello, this is our project logo”. A logo contest will be organized so that students can choose for the best logo.
    1. “Hello, this is our class!”

     

    • Manuel+ practice: Students will learn to work with the program  www.thinglink.com  . They will upload a class picture and describe shortly the students in their class (names and  typical character properties). They will use a template for the description. They will also learn how to upload a ‘thinglink’ in the Twinspace.
    • Communication: Every student will upload his ‘thinglink’ in the file “Hello, this is our class” in the project activities in a blog so that other students can leave comments

    and ask questions about it.

    • Possible extra: Students can upload funny pictures from the class group in the Twinspace.

    NOVEMBER

    1. “Hello, this is me!”

    + Start individual communication via letter, e-mail and/or  first Skype/chat session

     

     

     

    • Manuel+ practice: Students will learn to work with the program  www.voki.com  . They will make a speaking avatar and so give a short presentation about themselves (age, likes,...). They will use a template to type a text that will be used to let the Voki talk. They will also learn how to upload a Voki in the Twinspace.
    • Communication: Every student will upload his Voki in the file “Hello, this is me” in the project activities in a blog so that other students can leave comments and ask questions about it.

    Students can choose possible partners based on the profiles in the Twinspace, the ‘Thinglink’ and the ‘ Voki’ for individual penpal activities and chat sessions.

    • Possible extra: The text for the Voki could be registered in a MP3 so that the Voki has the real voice of the student.

                                                                               DECEMBER  

    1. “Hello, this is my favorite pastime!”

    + second letter, e-mail and or Skype/chat session

    • Manuel+ practice: Students will learn to work with the program  www.glogster.com  . They will make a digital collage and so tell us more about their interests. They will use a template to use key words. They will also learn how to upload a ‘Glog’ in the Twinspace.
    • Communication: Every student will upload his Voki in the file “Hello, this is me” in the project activities in a blog so that other students can leave comments and ask questions about it.
    • Possible extra: Students will write X-mas cards, created in Publisher (or other), and send them by post to the partner .

     

    TERM 2

    January

     

    1. “Hello, this is my everyday life and my family.”

     

    + third letter, e-mail and or Skype/chat session

     

    Manuel + practice: students will learn to work with the program www.goanimated.com

     Students will make a short animated movie clip about a day of their everyday life and present their family.

     

    Communication: Every student will upload his movie in the file “Hello, this is my everyday life and my family” in the project activities. In a forum other students can reply and ask questions about it.

    February

    1. “Hello, this is our school! “

     

    + fourth letter, e-mail and or Skype/chat session

     

     

     

     

    Manuel + practice: students will learn to work with Windows Moviemaker or another ICT-tool to make movies. Students will make a short movie in which they present their school  with its different rooms.

     

    Communication: students will upload the movies in the file “Hello, this is our school...” in the project activities.  In a forum students can write comments and ask questions about the different schools.

     

    Possible extra: Open a forum in Twinspace to ask questions about the different schools e.g. about the school rules, school uniforms, club activities during lunch breaks, …

     

    Send a lesson schedule, a school journal, random pictures,…  to each other.

     

    March

    1. Hello, this is our country …!”

     

    + fifth letter, e-mail and or Skype/chat session

     

    • Manuel+ Practice: Students will learn to work with Microsoft PowerPoint (insert text, images, animations, etc.)  or Prezi or another ICT-presentation tool.

     Students will make a presentation in which they locate the country of the partners in Europe, the region in the country and the city in the region. They will also give information about several other cultural topics like: flag, climate, capital, population, religion, landscape, food and drinks, favorite sports, significant people, monuments, …

    • Communication: students will upload their presentations in the file “Hello we are from...” in the project activities.  In a forum students can reply and ask questions about it.
    • Possible extra: locate the partners in Google Earth, draft a quiz, make a puzzle…

    1. “Hello, this is our city …!”

     

    + sixth letter, e-mail and or Skype/chat session

     

    • Manuel+ Practice: students will learn to work with Narrable or another ICT –organizing tool. Students will make presentation about the city of their partners which includes pictures and spoken language.
    • Communication: Every student will upload his presentation in the file “Hello, this is our city” in the project activities in a blog or forum so that other students can reply and ask questions about it.
    • Possible extra: Send  a package with random information about our city.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    TERM 3

     

    MAY

    1. “Hello, this was my partner “

     

    • Manuel+ Practice: students will learn to work with Mindmanager, Creaza or another ICT –organizing tool. Students will make a mindmap about their partner in which they’ll put everything they learned about him or her during the school year.
    • Communication: Every student will upload their mindmap in the file “Hello, this is my partner” in the project activities in a blog or forum so that other students can reply and ask questions about it.
    • Possible extra: students make a comparative chart with  all info about their partner and themselves.

     

     

    JUNE

    1. Thank you  card

    = final letter

     

     

    • Students will write thank you cards and send them by post to their partner.

     

     

    • Possible extra: Write an E-card (Hallmark) or create a card in Publisher.
