On Tuesday we had CLIL lessons in English.

Group 1: The first group was in room 41 and the other in room 15.The teachers had the idea to do speed dating. We should say where we come from, how old we are, how many siblings we have etc. Then we watched a short movie about East Frisia. Second we looked at the other regions. We got ipads and worked in groups on the twinspace site to find any pictures that are typical for their country and region. We then gave a presentation on traditions, food and a famous buildings.

Group 2: In this group we also talked English, so that everybody understood everything. At first we talked about crazy traditions, and the Christmas traditions of Europe. We watched short movies, and assigned texts and flags to images. And we filled in a blank text. Next we divided into 3 groups. Every group had a project topic. The first group should make a Christmas game. The second group should plan a Christmas party and visualize it with a kind of prototype. The last group had to decorate a Christmas tree with little texts in different languages and self-made decorations. That day was very busy and we learned a lot about the other countries.

On Wednesday our day began with an introduction what we should expect this day. Then we were picked up by a coach and drove to the Erzgebirge. Our first goal of the day was Neudorf. There we set the task to build smoker candles and smoker houses. When that was finished, we drove to Annaberg-Buchholz and visited the church and the Christmas market. When we were in church we had a very interesting lecture. After that it was already back home.

At the beginning of the Sinterklaas workshop, we were told how the Dutch celebrate Nicholas (Sinterklaas) and what differences there are between our Nicholas and their Sinterklaas. Towards the end everybody got a boxed present that we were not allowed to open at first but had to be packed again in artists’ design before everyone got a name sign from someone he should stick to the present. At the end, all the gifts from "Sinterklaas" were handed over to the students on the list.

In our second section of the day, we had a panel discussion on the topic of traditions and their changes. There was one student from each school, who was supposed to say a few sentences.

In our third part of the day, the CLIL groups were asked to present their project results and the awards for the best film and the most successful action bound group was awarded.

The best film came from the Romanian group and the best action bound group were the "crazy dogs".

In the last part of our day we celebrated a bit and got the opportunity to meet the host families of the students and possibly exchange numbers.
