Collecting old paper - autumn and spring
In the 2018/2019 school year, we carried out three waste paper collection campaigns: in October, March and May. All classes responded to the fundraiser, all three ninth grade classes being the most successful. We collected 19.8 tonnes of waste paper in the first campaign, 19.6 tonnes in the second, and 6.76 tonnes in the third campaign. The collected funds in the amount of € 4,416.33 were transferred to the school funds.
In October 2019, we carried out another waste paper collection campaign. We collected 19 tonnes of waste paper. We would like to thank all students, parents and employees who participated in the campaign for their contribution. The collected funds in the amount of € 1,601 were transferred to the school funds. Students have also made a film about this campaign.

Collecting old clothes - automn and spring
In October 2019, we carried out the first collection campaign for waste textiles in this school year. Containers were positioned in front of the school in which citizens and parents could dispose textile waste. Students have also made a film about this campaign. The funds raised were transferred to the school funds and were later used to finance various student activities. The students have also made a film about it.

- Technical day - production of products from recycled materials
On Saturday, 17 November 2018, we had a working Saturday at our school. Grade level students and the sixth and eighth grade students had a technical activity day. With their skilful hands, they made wonderful products for sale at the pre-holiday fair. Seventh-graders had lessons, and ninth-graders had a science activity day called Life, Health, and Saving.
On Friday, 22 November 2019, the eighth grade students had a technical activity day. With the help of their dexterous hands, they made beautiful products from natural and recycled materials, in the spirit of the Christmas and New Year holidays, which will be sold at the pre-holiday fair. On Monday, 25 November 2019, the sixth grade students also had a technical activity day with the same content.
- Technical day - GIVE FORWARD - "Loško je ekološko"
On Wednesday, 24 April 2019, the sixth grade students had a technical activity day entitled "DJ NAPREJ - LOŠKO JE EKOLOŠKO". It seems important to me that children become aware of waste-related problems very early on. We watched a film about plastic waste, visited a water treatment plant at Suha, picked up rubbish around Sora and then sorted it at school. The day before the technical activity day, students brought various items to school, which we exchanged on the technical activity day. The exchange was very successful, and students also collected garbage diligently. During a visit to the water treatment plant in Suha, we learned a lot of new things, including why garbage is expensive, why it can be considered a raw energy material, and what does not belong in a toilet bowl.
- Environmental film "Birds of the Lakes and their return"
On 12 February 2020, in the scope of two elective subjects: Exploring Living Creatures in the Home Environment, and Organisms in Nature and the Artificial Environment, 57 students gathered after school lunch in the lecture hall, where we watched the natural science documentary Birds of the Lakes - Their Return by a director and screenwriter Matej Vranič. The film presents the life of lake birds in the Šaleška Valley in all seasons. The Šaleška Lakes in Velenje were heavily polluted and their surroundings were devastated due to the coalmine and thermal power plant, therefore the sound of birds in the Šaleška Valley was a rarity 30 years ago. After taking measures to improve this situation, life began to return to the area and today ornithologists can again list more than 200 different species of birds.
