LOCAL ACTIVITIES IN TURKEY
6 Oct 2018 World Bird Watching Day- A trip to Bafra Bird Paradise - 6th and 7th classes 50 students.
-We watched birds with our binoculars
-We knew some birds with their names in our languages
-We saw how a bird catch and ring
-We learned what ringing is.
Boards About Our Project Were Created - 1 November 2018 with 6th and 7th classes 10 students.
-We introduced our BwB Project
-We showed what we did and what we will do in this project to all our school.
We participated "Lets Save Storks Activity "-25 Mart 2019 6th and 7th classes 50 students.
-We learned more about Stork
-We learned the migration dates of Storks and what can we do for them?
-We tried to draw attention to the storks
Let's Do It*World Cleaning Day was celebrated-15 September 2018 6th and 7th classes 50 students.
-We tried to draw attention to environment, creatures, cleaning
-We cleaned all our school garden and close surroundings of the school
A Botanic Seminar was held- 13 March 2019- 6th and 7th classes 200 students by Prof. Hasan Korkmaz from Ondokuz Mayıs University.
-We decided to start to get to know the nature closely from plants that are an important part of nature. And we invited Prof. Hasan Korkmaz to our school for a seminar.
-We learned more about plants, the role of plants in nature, the role of plants on living organisms, wWhat is biodiversity, how to maintain the diversity of plants
-We learned also what endemic plant is and what the endemic plant species are.
Herbarium Trip Was held-28 March 2019 -6th and 7th classes 50 students to 19 Mayıs University Herbarium
-We learned what herbarium is and why herbarium is important.
-We learned how we can collect and save our plant for a long time.
Plant Photo Exhibition was held-11 December 2018-5th classes 40 students
-We learned plant names, endemic plants, some features of plants.
-We learned how we can take beautiful photos.
-We learned how to recognize plants and Latin names of some plants
World eWaste Day was Celebrated-13 October 2018-6th and 7th classes 50 students
-We learned what ewaste is and how ewastes cause harm to the environment and livings.
-We learned how to recycle and reuse our ewastes.
-We increased awareness about ewaste
Logo Selection was made-2 October 2018-5,6,7,8th classes 400 students and 30 teachers
-We selected our project logo and all our school members knew our project.
-We had a opportunity to introduce our project to all our school members with this activity.
-We gave information to all our school members abot our project aims, activities etc.
Outdoor Classroom Day was held-1 Nov 2018-23 May 2019-5-6th classes 80 students
-In this activity we remembered we are a part of nature.
-We witnessed that more students participated in the courses outside the classroom and that the course was conducted more effectively.
-Our students had the opportunity to get to know and explore the environment closely and to look at this environment from different windows.
Science Lesson in Samsun Zoo -27 November 2018-60 students and 1 teacher
-At the end of the topic of Animals, 60 students participated in the planned training in the zoo.
-Tasks were prepared for the students
-The tasks, which consist of questions about the characteristics of the animals in the zoo, were distributed to the students.
-Students were grouped.
-It was an outdoor activity to get to know the animals and learn their characteristics.
-The awareness of value and protection of living things has been improved.
Infographics about bird houses were made-11 February 2019-6-7th classes 40 students
-We learned how we can create a bird house, what main steps are to create a bird house
-We learned what infographic is.
-We learned some web 2.0 tools to create infographics
Bird Houses were created-18 February 2019-6-7th classes 40 students
-We made our birdhouses using our infographics.
-We searched suitable area and tree to put them.
-We put food and water to our birdhouses
-And we controlled our birdhouses to put more food and water each month without frightening and harming birds.
Our Project was introduced in our school science fair-2-3 May 2019-1000+ students (4-5-6-7-8th classes),50+ teachers
-We make science far in our school every year and a lot of quests come to see our school.
-In this year we had 20 projects to exhibite and one of them is our BwB project.
-We introduced our project to our quests with photos, videos, games, some handmade materials.
-Also we tried to increase awareness about birds.
-It was a good opportunity for us to disseminate our project.
Our Project was introduced etwinning exhibition in Samsun-11 June 2019- 1000+ people
-In this year the first time in our city we made an etwinning exhibition a lot of schools joined it with a lot of projects and we joined with our Bwb Project.
-We introduced our project to our quests with photos, videos, games, some handmade materials.
-Also we tried to increase awareness about birds.
-It was a big opportunity for us to disseminate our project.
Sayings And Expressions
-Our students wrote idioms unique to our language first in Turkish and then in English. They then wrote their meaning in English. They accomplished this activity by drawing pictures of birds for idioms.
World Water Day
-We prepared a presentation about the importance of water.
World Wetland Day 2 February
-What is a wetland? What is its importance for living things? What are the wetlands in our country and in our city? We have prepared a presentation that answers those questions.
The European Day of Languages (EDL)
-We have prepared a presentation that includes the idioms related to birds in our language, their English equivalents and their meanings. We had our project partners read our idioms in our own language on the online platform, and we had a pleasant time reading their idioms.
