Report of the Fourth Short-term exchange of groups of pupils in Greece October 14-20, 2019
Twenty six pupils and six teachers from Italy, the Netherlands and Spain were welcomed for the first time by the 2nd General High School of Aliveri as part of the fourth transnational short-term exchange of Erasmus + K219 European Student Groups “Generazione Web Europe”. From the 14th until the 20th of October 2019, the partner pupils were hosted in families of our school and participated in activities related to entrepreneurship and sustainable tourism inside and outside the school. At the same time, as an ally of the very good of the time, they were exposed to various forms of alternative tourism offered by Euboea.
Specifically, students developed business skills in workshops organized at the school with the guidance of external partners, such as Photography, soap, jewelry and candles making, knitting and Greek traditional dances.
Out of school they visited the AVALONA Women's Gourmet Co-op in Avlonari, where the ladies of the Co-op gave our guests the opportunity to develop cooking skills and taste traditional delicacies.
They were guided to the Archaeological Museum of Eretria. They walked along the river to Steni and tasted Greek cuisine in a picturesque traditional tavern in the chapel of Ag. Kyriaki. At the House of Knowledge and Culture in Chalkida Dr. Antoniou explained the Euripos Tide phenomenon.
They visited a bio-farm where they were introduced to the effective technology of microorganisms. The farmer offered a lunch to the Group before leaving for the Kymi’s Fig Packaging enterprise, where they learned that figs are dried and packaged without preservatives, so that Kymi figs always remain a natural product. They were impressed by the Evia massif before arriving for a short stroll on the beautiful beach of Styra.
They visited Athens and had a guided tour to the New Acropolis Museum and the Holy Rock.
Before leaving, they enjoyed a friendly atmosphere at the farewell dinner organized by the families at the seaside.
During the meeting the students practiced English and developed bonds of friendship with their partners.
