3rd Grade students are working with mBot. They change the lights, add music and write codes.

Maths activity with sphero: We wrote the numbers on the caps. The children used the sphero app to program the device live. With the app the children threw sphero to break down caps like a bowling ball with bowling pins. They wrote the scores of all the children. Finally we wrote the ranking of the highest scores.

Learn what is the pixel without technology but with pixel art. A digital art where pieces are created through a unique process of manipulating the individual pixels of an image document using minimal size and number of colors. In other words, it's about having control over every pixel on your canvas, none of the pixels are generated by a computer. Children created father's day cards.

Thanks to the use of ozobot, P2 children understood better the various types of lines and which lines build geometric figures. The movements of the robot help to understand in practice the different types of lines.

P5 kids learnt the electricity and they realized the first circuit. They maked a squishy circuit and used battery, wire, conductive paste, insulating paste and little led. At the first they learnt how to work a circuit and after they tried to make a circuit. Finally they make creations with their artistic creativity.

Using play-dough is a fun and very low cost way to learn about circuits. In our circuit we use a component called a Light Emitting Diode (LED). The initial idea came from Giacomo (ITA) and his class! :)

We would like to follow up these basic intro lessons by asking our pupils to create their own play-dough and arranging a Skype meeting with our partner schools at some point in the near future.

For this year I decided to learn more about Arduino and Raspberry Pi, as although I am good at BBC Micro:bit and Scratch to name a few solely programme based coding platforms, I always wanted to use those ones above.

And... of course with having Ahmet with us, who is an Arduino Wizzard!!! :), it only makes sense to catch up a bit! Anyhow, for the next coming weeks, I am following a home learning scheme as well as attending an online based learning programme, because...

OK, so because we have purchased enough Ardunio Uno boards with full specs that can facilitate a whole class, and I really want to take the full benefit of them. We now have a range of add ons for both our Arduino and Raspberry Pi with leds and wires for Basic Electric Circuit projects (too).

I know Ahmet will be pleased to read about our efforts here... :)

In the month of November, there were two free online trainings I registered and attended. They were organised by Ozobot and Tynker to promote coding in primary schools.

STEM Ambassadors are volunteers from a wide range of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related jobs across the UK. We offer our time and enthusiasm to help bring STEM subjects to life and demonstrate the value of them in life and careers.
